Catwoman :D
Cat ears I made for a last minute Halloween function .

Please take note that I'm remaking these just for the tutorial so it's kinda sloppily done :/

  • How to make an ear / horn. Cat Ears - Step 1
    Step 1

First you need two colours of felt . For the inner & outer part of the ears .

If possible make sure your felt is of the thicker kind . ( the white one I had was so thin , it didn't look good ) .

    Step 2

& a hairband to match the colour of the outer part of the ear .

    Step 3

First , fold the outer part of ear (felt) into half & cut out the cat ears .

This way you get two pieces .

    You will need 4 .

    Step 4

The measurement I used was 6 centimeters by 6 centimeters .

When you cut it , make sure the sides of the ears are slightly curved .

    Step 5

Then place it onto the felt to make it easier to cut out the other side of the ear .

Don't throw away the extra felt . Cut out a small piece & roll it like such .

& glue it so it'll stick together .

    Step 10

Ok , so each ear has two pieces of felt ( as show in picture ) .

Use on piece & put glue along the lines that are red .

The middle one is where you still the rolled up piece ( as shown in picture above ) .

    Step 11

Then paste the outer piece of the felt onto the back one with glue .

    Step 14

If your lazy to sit there holding it , use a clothes peg or some sort of clip to help you .

I rather use my hands , so it won't end up too pointed ( look at my black cat ears below ) .

  • How to make an ear / horn. Cat Ears - Step 15
    Step 15

Then since the bottom parts of the ears are open , put glue then stick onto hairband .

    ( I always paste where the bristle-y part starts & ends )

Then cut out another piece of felt .

    It's 2 centimeters by 6 centimeters .

Oh I meant to ask, is the basic hair band a plastic or a material one? I've got a plastic one and I want to make one of these. Do you think it will work if I stick material ears to a plastic hair band if I use hot glue??
