Car Toy Keeper!

  • Completed Project: Car Toy Keeper! Picture #1

yayaya baby stuff contained

I started a topic on the board about finding a way to organize my kids toys and stuff in my car. And i got alot of response on making a flap. I didnt have a pattern on how to make one and i was just staring at my oversized jeans and got a bright idea on how to turn them into something I can use! Kewl huh! I hope you guys enjoy this.

  1. Step 1

    Step 1

kk lets get to the fun part. find an old pair of jeans you will not be wearing any more! for me I was proud to use my big girl jeans that I dont wear no more. The bigger they are the more stuff you can put in.

  2. Step 2

    Step 2

fold midway of the pants leg to where the pockets meet. like this. This is where one set of pockets will be.

  3. Step 3

    Step 3

kk fold the left over leg up to make another set of pockets, like this. Play with it till you get it just right.

  4. Step 4

    Step 4

okay where you see the red lines is where you want to sew and the blue is where you can sew where you only fold at the cuff of the leg to get two pockets only for that set of pockets.

  5. Step 5

    Step 5

sample on what i was talking about get two pockets out of one.

  6. Step 6

    Step 6

okay this is where we take a break and eat some cookies that I made earlier....due to the fact my sewing machine decided to go KA BLOWIE!..I will add the recipe to these yummy things later.

  7. Step 7

    Step 7

Okay sewing one side this is what it will look like so far. Kewl huh?

  8. Step 8

    Step 8

okay after you (eventually) get all the sewing done...(psst i had to hand stitch one leg cause bessie my sewing machine kept eating the thread)it will look sorta like this...but i am sure when you do it , it will be ten times better looking lol.

  9. Step 9

    Step 9

add some pretty ribbon for the back loops of the pants. I sew it on for extra precaution. Tie it on the back of the seat of your car. and TA DA! stuff the kids sippy cups, toys, books, snacks, markers, ect.(sorry its on my kitchen chair cause i was going to take a pic of it in the car but its raining like crazy at the moment) So ta da, hope you guys enjoyed this! have fun and get back to me with your creations!
