Cannoli Filling

  • Completed Project: Cannoli Filling Picture #1

Great to dollop on all sorts of desserts!

This is a really easy recipe that you can treat like a richer (heavier and sweeter) version of whipped cream.

  1. Step 1

    Step 1

The basic rule is that you should put 1 part sugar to 2 parts ricotta. I used a half cup sugar and a cup ricotta.

  2. Step 2

    Step 2

Depending on the consistency of your ingredients, you might want to push 'em through a stainer first, but this is optional.

  3. Step 3

    Step 3

Mix the ingredients well and then add a bit of flavoring (also optional). My absolute favorite is orange blossom water, but anything like that is great! Try: rose water, vanila, almond extract, chocolate flavor.....ect.......

  4. Step 4

    Step 4

Mix, and it's ready to top all sorts of desserts!
For one idea, see my new recipe for a gingerbread parfait!
