With colours inspired by confectionary, plus beads for a hint of glamour, these delightful cosies will keep your mobile phone safe and clean. There are seven different designs to try out, so you could have a different phone cosy for every day of the week. You could give them away as gifts to your friends – they would make a fantastic present for both kids and adults.

    Front panel
    Thread beads onto yarns as folls:
    yarn A: 9 beads
    yarn B: 18 beads
    yarn C: 9 beads.
    Using yarn A and 3.00mm (US 2–3) needles, cast on 21 sts.
    *Row 1 (RS): Using yarn A, knit.
    Row 2 (WS): Using yarn A, purl.
    Rows 3–4: Rep Rows 1–2.
    Row 5 (RS): Using yarn A, knit.
    Row 6 (WS): Using yarn B, purl.

    Next row (RS): P1, (k1, p1)
    9 times, k1.
    Rep the last 2 rows twice more.
    With WS facing and using yarn C, cast (bind) off sts knitwise.*

    yarn B: 6 sts; yarn C: 5 sts; yarn B: 5 sts; and yarn A: 6 sts.

    Change to 2.25mm (US 1) needles.
    Next row (RS) (decrease): Using yarn C, k10, k2tog, k10. (21 sts)
    Knit 3 rows using yarn C (garter stitch).

    Thread 37 beads onto yarn A.
    Using 3.00mm (US 2–3) needles and yarn A, cast on 21 sts.
    Work as Candy Heart using A in place of B, C in place of A, and B in place of C and work from chart for Candy Star.

    FINISHING
    For all cosies: darn in any loose ends on the WS of the work.
    With WS facing and using a pressing cloth, lightly press the panels.
    Sew together the side edges of the front and back panels.
    Candy 1 and 2: Using photograph as a guide, attach a press stud to each cosy.
    Candy 3, Candy Heart and Candy Star: Using photograph as guide, sew 1 button onto the back panel of each cosy to correspond with the buttonhole.
    NOTE: The colourways shown on page 66 run as follows (from top left): Candy Star, Candy 1, Candy 2 – colourway 3, Candy 2 – colourway 1, Candy 3.
