You can use pretty much any candy but the harder it is, the better it works! use atleast 2 coats of varnish.

yeah they have kept ok so far. i put quite a few coats of varnish on and i think that basically tops anything getting in so it cant go mouldy or anything cuz thers no oxygen etc. One did fall off pretty quick though but i think thats because i didnt close the jump ring properly!!
