Candy canes and fudge combined for the perfect sweet treat!
I love the holidays and even more I love the treats that help make this time of year a true celebration! With the help of some handy Wilton baking products I made a delicious fudge and peppermint treat that is great for gifting or enjoying. The Wilton candy bar molds, made of silicone, provide the messages of jolly, sweet, happy and more directly into your sweet treat-literally! Wrap them in a Wilton clear treat bag, tie with a ribbon and they are ready for gifting. Just be sure to keep one for yourself!

Using an offset spatula or butter knife to smooth out the candy evenly. Tapping the mold on the counter to ensure any air bubbles escape. Put in the refrigerator on a level shelf and let harden for at least 30 minutes or overnight. Longer is better because you are going to layer hot fudge on top of this layer.

    Step 3

Now this is where you use your favorite fudge recipe. I use the one on the back of the marshmallow fluff jar. Its tried and true and works best for me. Here is the tricky part because fudge sets quickly. Get your 1/4 cup measuring cup ready because when you pull the fudge off the stove you scoop approximately 1/4 cup into each mold. Aim for the center and use an offset spatula to push the fudge from the middle of the mold to the edge-try not to fiddle with it too much. Place a piece of wax paper over the mold and smooth the fudge layer-this is the easiest way!

    Step 4

Peel the wax paper off and sprinkle crushed candy canes over each mold. Place wax paper over molds again and gently press candy into the fudge. Back into the fridge overnight.

    Step 5

Pushing the mold from the back to the front the bar will pop out of the mold. This is easier than you think-just go for it. I wrap them in clear candy bags and top with a bow.
