I got a lot of excess fabric for this project. My pillow was round and 45 inches in diameter. I draw directly on the fabric, measuring the radius out from a center point. Because this was so big I DID have some difficulty, my case was slightly too large (but still usable ^^;) because I overestimated how much I would need. This was my first big scale project so it took me a little extra time to figure things out.

I used a water-resistant layer, sewed that onto each outside decorative panel, then sewed the two panels together via machine. I left a small area open to flip it inside out and stuff the pillow in and then whip-stitched the opening shut.
