Calculator Button Bracelet

Turn those old multipliers in to a stylish little accessory.

  1. Step 1

    Step 1

    For this project I'm using the rubber button insert that you get inside calculators.

  2. Step 2

    Step 2

    Use scissors to cut the buttons in to strips. Individually cut off any larger buttons.


  3. Step 3

    Step 3

    Use a pin to pierce a hole at the end of a rubber strip.

  4. Step 4

    Step 4

    Slip a jump ring through the hole.


  5. Step 5

    Step 5

    Attach a clasp to the the end jump ring and close it.

  6. Step 6

    Step 6

    Attach all the button strips together in one long chain.

  7. Step 7

    Step 7

    Attach a single jump ring at the other end of the chain.

  8. Step 8

    Step 8

    Your bracelet is now ready to wear.

ha genius, i love useing recycles sruff for bracelets& belts, this one I can so use for sucking up in trig tho-- and no I can toss the dead-batt calculators nd save the buttons

That's cute! If anyone is trying to make these and doesn't have a calculator laying around...Walgreens has a 2 pack of calculators for $1 in their dollar bins. Cute colors like Pink and Green and Orange too.

I had an old calculator that I felt bad throwing away, so I took out the buttons and decided to use them as beads. I was going to make earrings too!

I'm executive director at a youth center where I also teach art and I'm definitely going to make these with the kids! Reminds me of the old typewriter key bracelets we were all making a couple of years back. Thanks for sharing this great idea!
