Well. It actually doesn't have to be expensive. The cabochons I got on the Internet. :)

Cut out a picture from a magazine (in my case: from a page of a pin up collection book) in the chape of the cabochon.

Glue under the cabochon with transparent (!) glue.

Glue on the ring base and secure it with felt.
