I bought a big box of jewelry findings awhile back from a wardrobe dept. and it was lucky enough to contain adhesive earring stud backs. I am not much of a jeweler, so these were awesome for me to be able to just stick on the buttons. However, I think it's a great idea even if you don't have that kind and just glue the buttons onto regular backs.
