A Chic and Cozy Accessory for Fall/Winter!!

I saw this cute fur scarf on net-a-porter, looked at the $1295 price and thought "I can make that" so I did and here it is.

Their scarf is 30" long, I wanted my scarf to be as close to the real thing as possible so I made my scarf the same length. You could make this scarf as long as you'd like.

Let's get to it!!!

Instructions

  1. Step 1 1

Cut a piece of fur that is 9" wide by 31" long.

  2. Step 2 2

Fold the fur in half the long way with the right sides together.

Start sewing along the short side and continue around sewing all the way down the long side. 1/2" seam allowance

Leave the short side at the opposite end of the scarf open for turning

  3. Step 3 3

Turn the scarf right side out and hand sew the open end.

(I used a slip stitch so the stitches couldn't be seen.)

  4. Step 4 4

Place a pin about 1.5" to 2" from one end. Measure 4" from that pin and place another pin.

  5. Step 5 5

Cut a slit in the center of the scarf from one pin to the other. This will make a 4" opening to loop the scarf through.

Note: You could probably try using the buttonhole feature on your sewing machine to make a 4" buttonhole.

  6. Step 6 6

If you have any questions, message me and I'll get back to you ASAP
