Based on a well know Dutch ballerina, Alexandra Radius.

I never thought I would be able to do this. I'm not a painter or a sculptor. But for some reason the material was perfect for me and I found it quite easy to shape it the way I liked.

So even though it's expensive to have it made in bronze I'm glad I did it.

  1. Step 1

    Step 1

    There's not many instructions.

First you need meltable materials to make a frame (for instance copper).

Fabric a frame that resembles what you want to make.

Start adding the wax in pieces to shape it.

  2. Step 2

    Step 2

When you're finished find a professional who can make your statue into a mall and then make a bronze statue of it.

The picture is a random one from the internet. Back left the wax statue, in front the mall they made from it and back right the final bronze statue.

Is a "mall" the same thing as a mold, or is it something different?

I think it is although my English-Dutch dictionary only gives that greenish/blue-ish stuff you get on food if you leave it for too long as a translation for mould. I copied this from Wikipedia:

Bronze:
"It is also widely used for cast metal sculpture (see bronze sculpture). Many common bronze alloys have the unusual and very desirable property of expanding slightly just before they set, thus filling in the finest details of a mould. Bronze parts are tough and typically used for bearings, clips, electrical connectors and springs."
