Gather some small branches. I used my Christmas tree so I had to cut branches from my tree at the trunk.
Remove all smaller twigs and needles from main branch. Cut your branches into smaller lengths by holding to votive holder and cutting to desired length.
Apply a line of hot glue attaching branch vertically. Continue around the glass until surface is covered.
You can then add some decorative details such as lace if you so desire.
