  1. Step 1

    Step 1

You'll need a bottle cap and a small piece of foam for each stamper you want to make.

  2. Step 2

    Step 2

Draw around the bottle cap on to a piece of paper, this will give you an idea of the space you have to work in.

  3. Step 3

    Step 3

Draw your stamp design inside the circle. The simpler you make the design, the easier it will be to make in to a stamp.

  4. Step 4

    Step 4

    Cut out your design.

  5. Step 5

    Step 5

Draw around you design on to the foam, adding on the details.

  6. Step 6

    Step 6

Cut out the stamper design using scissors and an exacto knife for the details.

  7. Step 7

    Step 7

Glue the foam shape on to the bottle cap, get an ink pad and you're ready to start stamping!

You could weight the bottle cap so that they would be substantial too.

These are awesome, especially since the plastic bottle caps are a huge trash problem - I don't have any foam, so instead of buying some I'm going to wait for a meat tray or produce packaging that's stryofoam and try with that. Very cool!

Great idea! You could also use larger lids, like those off of Gatorade, if you wanted to make a larger design.

Gluing one layer of foam to a bottle cap is way simpler than trying to glue 4 or 5 layers of foam together! (Which is what I've done before.) Thanks for a much easier approach to stamp making! :)
