Recycle!
I used to make accordion-style garland during study hall with strips of notebook paper. Well, it wasn’t so much garland as it was tons of little eleven inch pieces of it littering my desk by the time the bell rang. (Don’t worry, I finally got my academic act together in time for college.) So my tree garland last year was a no-brainer since accordion paper garland is a cinch to make. Here is how to make easy paper garland from a recycled dictionary.

Fold one strip over the other and repeat with the second strip. Do this until you run out of paper and then tape additional strips end-to-end to lengthen your garland.

Your garland will look like this. The thickness will depend on the length. You can do all your garland in one go or work in sections and attach them later.
