Instructions

  1. 1

    Sup!
Writing this wired on redbull so be patient if I say wierd things. I'll probably come back tomorrow to re-edit.

    ANYWAY.
    Lets go.

first get some books. Some nice abandoned hardback ones and then gut them. take alllll the pages out by cutting the binding BUT WAIT dont trash em, trim em down to a nice lighter abreviated version and set that aside.

  2. 2

    Paint Paint Paint.

Paint the hardcover front and back (or you could cut corners, but its not worth it, just paint it all)
I used colors from my comforter :) and if you wanna be super snazzy you can take the color you want in to home depot and color match! (5 bucks for a sample that should be enough

    2 coats make it pretty.

  3. 3

    Hooks! Arrr.

If you're good with wire cutters than this will be easy for you, if not, welcome to the club.
Cut ~ 2 inch strips of wire hangers for your hooks. bend em to look like a hook, I also made a flat little u turn at the top as for more surface area for the glue gun.

  4. 4

    Glue Gunnin'

glue down ONLY the binding of your abridged books to get an idea of where to poke your holes for the hooks.

Thread the hooks through the holes and hott glue them in place.

Once they're nice and happy you can glue the corners of the pages down to keep the pages from flying around.

  5. 5

    Just Hangin

I *cough* borrowed some picture hangers from my parent's house to hang the books but eventually ran out and bought some at the craft store for 3 bucks for 2 books worth of hangings.

I screwed them in to the back of the book. you could also pull out the glue gun.

And finally you add the ribbon to make everything perddy.

I also created mini ones from the leftover paper and construction paper for my earrings.
