For birdlovers. :)
I made this ring as a present for a friend of mine who loves rubber ducks. I got the tiny one I used from a 25 cent machine. You could really use any tiny bird model for this project.

  • Step 1

Collect your materials. Start with the wire. Begin to wrap it loosely in a circle, using your fingers to guide it. Don't worry about it being perfect, because you want it to be messy, like a nest. Just make sure that you leave just enough room in the middle for your bird to sit.

  • Step 2

Once you finish making this coil of wire, cut off 3 smaller pieces of wire, each one about one half of an inch long. Wrap each of these pieces of wire around your coil of "nest" to secure it. You do not need to tuck them in or tie them off.

  • Step 3

Once your nest is finished, use your glue gun to adhere your bird to the nest, from the bottom, using small enough dabs of glue so that they are not visible, but still hold.

  • Step 4

Once your bird and nest are attached, glue them to whatever ring base you choose. I have absolutely no money, so I used one from a 25 cent machine.

  • Step 5

And with this final step, you're done. Model and enjoy your creation. If you make a version, please post it! I'd love to see it.
