biker/cowboy jeans
I used the sleeves off of an old leather trench coat to add leather protection to these jeans. My husband loves them!
Just rip the sleeves off of the coat-make sure it has long enough sleeves to go from the hip to the bottom of the pant legs. (Shoulder piece of coat fits better placing it on the thigh of the pant leg with the sleeve cuff going towards the ankle.)Trim the leather to fit the front of each leg in the shape you want. Turn the edges of the leather under and sew the leather to the front side of the pant leg. It may help to pin the leather to the jeans to hold it in place. You can also use a sewing machine if you use a leather needle.
I got my inspiration from the 90's, when leather pants were the rage, but bikers and cowboys will consider these highly useful, and stylish, in todays world as well.
