modular origami piece
That's a modular doll, and you'll need 19 pieces to make it.
The first sheet of origami paper (15cm²) will make the body
The second sheet will be divided in 9 pieces of 4cm² and 9 pieces of 3cm² (see picture 6 step 22). Each module takes time to be folded and, of course, the smaller it is the harder it gets.
Chose a pattern for the lady's dress and let's begin it

    Step 1

    1- fold diagonally (both)
    2- and in the middle (like a cross)
    3- fold as shown in picture
    4- These folds are just to help flatten each side (as shown in 6). To make it much easier, you can fold to one side and then to the other

    5- Appearence after the folds are done
    6- Unfold "4" and "5" and flatten each side.
    7- Appearence after all the sides are flattened
    8- Fold up the lateral edge to the central axis (repeat on other sides)

    9- Fold up each lower end
    10- Appearence after all sides done
    11- Now, unfold everything (I mean it!)
    12- Turn the paper side

    13- Following the creases, fold it again.
    14- You'll have something like this
    15- Hold three ends (one short, one long and another short)
    16- Fold inside following the crease, as shown (arrows) in the picture

    17- fold the other side, the same way
    18- fold the end inwards
    - The second and the third parts you'll have one side free and the other attached to the former fold. The last one will be with both side attached. You'll have to put them together, giving the shape of the module.
    - This module is used to make the kusudama Venus (I have a video of it on my page)
    -Well, this was the easiest one, the next 18 will be on smaller papers, but the technic is the same. You may use a toothpick to help folding these parts inwards the module.

    21- Flatten one of the sides of the first module
    22- That's how you get 18 pieces of paper from an origami sheet. :o)
    23- Modules folded, and material ok
    24- The body is ready

    25- Sew 6 of the 9 smallest modules together.
    26- Make a circle not too tight
    27- The umbrella will use a medium module glued in half toothpick, with a ribbon
    28- The arms go dowm from the collar, two medium pieces and a small one. Alternate them as shown in the picture

    38- Fold the sides inwards
    39- Bend lightly the ends of the petals

    Here it is
    Assemble: body/ toothpick/ collar+arms/ ribbon/ head/ hat/ rose.
    There's also a ribbon on the hat, but its glued.
    By the way: I used super glue in the ribbons for them not to untie.
    Well, it's over.

    The doll with floral dress was a gift. Now, which one is the prettiest?
