Paint the box, and when it's dry, make two holes in the lid the right distance apart so the bead can be threaded onto the box. Use the thread and go through the bead a few times, making sure that it is secured onto the box. Cut out a piece of funky foam that will fit in the inside of the lid to cover up the knotted thread, and superglue it down. I colour co-ordinated by bead I used on top with the paint I used for the box. (for more mini box ideas, see my projects!!)
