  1. Step 1

    Step 1

Steal a pair of shoes from a Barbie when she's not looking. Alternatively, you could just buy a pack of doll shoes from your local toy shop.

  2. Step 2

    Step 2

Hold the shoe in place and carefully drill a hole through the heel of the shoe. If you don't have a drill at hand, you can hammer a nail through the shoe instead - but be careful, it's quite tricky.

  3. Step 3

    Step 3

Open a jump ring with some jewellery pliers and slip through the hole on the shoe.

  4. Step 4

    Step 4

Slip an earring hook on to the jump ring and close the jump ring.

  5. Step 5

    Step 5

Repeat with the other shoe and you've made yourself a cute pair of earrings.

Ahhh I remember my first pair of barbie shoe earrings. I was just about to put this on my site actually. I'm diggin' the color! If somebody doesn't have a small drill; a hot needle, pliers, and a candle works perfectly for making the hole in the heel. =)

love it!

Cute! ^_^ Another way you could make the hole is by heating a pin up over a candle (hold it with pliers as it gets hot!)and push it through. Me and my sister used to do it this way when we made plectrum jewellery.

I've made these before too. The easiest way to pierce the shoes is to use imitation barbie shoes instead. The cheaper generic dolls have much thinner shoes, and you can simply poke them with a regular (not necessarily heated) pin. This would be especially good for the Dorothy shoes since they're gonna be covered up anyway.

So simple and fast :)
Gosh, you could do this with ANY of Barbie's accessories...

Hi Cat thought you might like a picture of the shoe earrings I made. I also stole a radio and made a necklace!!
Oh and my tip for making the hole in the show was to get a pin and then push it inti a pin board ... always works!!

Ive made a pair of purple earrings like this and everyone asks me where I got them from :D

I think I just shoved a sharp needle or a pin into the shoe to make the hole, but it takes a bit longer
