January's dress for Project Paperdoll with Fabric On Demand

January's dress for Project Paperdoll is the Animal Ear Dress, inspired by my beloved collection of cat and rabbit ear headbands. It's a super girly dress in my favourite colour of purple with a silky black collar and bow belt, which can be worn either at the front or back!

This pattern is for a simple lined a-line dress that zips up the back with pockets, a Peter Pan collar and bow belt around the waist. The print comes in purple spotted with cat, bear, rabbit and mouse ears with a subtle star textured background. It's available to buy now from from Fabric On Demand or you can have a go at creating your own.

I really like this design. It will work for different ages and body types. You said you are teaching yourself to sew throughout the year. How? Are you using a book and/ or videos? I've been playing around with the idea of teaching myself to sew. Any advice would be helpful. I'm looking forward to Project Paperdoll.

Thanks so much. I've always sewn clothes from scratch without learning all of the proper techniques, so this year I'm reading books, watching videos, learning from my Mum and maybe even attending a few workshops to learn how things should be done properly. And working from patterns - this was the first I've ever created!
