ultimate overload of birthstone jewellery
This is an amethyst chip jewellery set I made for my mother for Christmas this year. She had been after a set since our holiday in Alsace Lorraine regions of France last summer where so many of the local jewellery shops sold sets in various types of semi precious stones but couldn't afford to buy a set. My mum absolutely loves purple and of course her birth stone is Amethyst so I decided to see if I could make her a set to remind her of our holiday. I decided to look in to how much it costs to get hold of gemstone chip beads and surprisingly there were some sellers on eBay selling strings of all types of stones for cheap so I ordered two strings of about 60cm each. When they arrived I tied one of the strings together to form a necklace, the perfect length for a beaded necklace and then unstrung the other string. I then took a length of thin elastic and threaded the beads onto it to form a stretch bracelet. For the earrings I took a pair of earring findings and wire to thread on the beads and attached the wires to the findings. She absolutely loves the set along with the woodland charm bracelet I also made for her.
