All Zipper Purse
 <  Image 1 of 2  >

Made from recycled zippers by my Daddy hehe. I don't have to fumble for the opening anymore coz it's always right there!!

Add to a List Add to Favorites Add Your Version

  1. Step 1

    Step 1

STEP ONE: find yourself some zippers!! Mine are from the op shop and are the same length...which is really important.

  2. Step 2

    Step 2

STEP TWO: I find that if i warn my sewing machine about what's to come she is a lot more helpful... especially with zippers...And we all know how horrible zippers are!!!

  3. Step 3

    Step 3

STEP THREE: I have chosen purple and yellow... whatever colours you decide on now is a good time to lie them out in the order you want them to be.

Then line up the first 2 zippers right side together. Starting at the "zipped" end carefully sew half way down the zippers.

Leave the needle in, lift the foot and spin the zippers 90 degrees. This makes it easier to unzip them under the foot. But I guess it all depends and the size of your zippers...

Then continue in this pattern till you feel you have enough to make a case.

  4. Step 4

    Step 4

STEP FOUR: The inside should look like this!!!

  5. Step 5

    Step 5

STEP FIVE: The outside should look like this... Please note that my zippers are all "up" the same end... in the confusion of zippers it is easy to put them round the wrong way...hehe

Although if you're after the random look why not!!

  6. Step 6

    Step 6

STEP SIX: Fold your mass of zippers together and sew closed. You just have to undo a zipper to get to the ones you are sewing closed.. so follow step 3 and you'll be right!!!

  7. Step 7

    Step 7

STEP SEVEN: Sew closed the sides. And you're all most done... I decided to hand sew the end with the zippers as I had more control on the ends than fiddling with them on the sewing machine... but each to their own!!!

  8. Step 8

    Step 8

STEP EIGHT: I decided to hand sew the end with the zippers as I had more control on the ends than fiddling with them on the sewing machine... but each to their own!!!

Then flip it inside out/outside in...

  9. Step 9

    Step 9

STEP NINE: ... AND zip and unzip to your hearts content!!! The first thing I did was unzip all the zippers hehehe... now fill with anything you feel like!!!

  10. Step 10

I hope you find this useful as it is my first HOW TO... any questions feel free to ask... sorry it took so long to get the tut up cat but i kinda had a baby ... LOL.

    Cheers Steph!!

i woild love to do a how to BUT my dad made it lol... Basically though it looks like he just sewed all the zipper sides together, right sides together that is. The folded in half like you would a rectangle piece of fabric then sew each side....Apparently that was the hardest part coz of the lil metal stoppers on the end of the zippers. On mine some are a lil exposed... Im all for experimenting though and have some zippers so i can try a how to..

So, is it that many pocket sewn together in a row, or that many openings on one pouch?
