Lay Jeans flat on a table.

Note where you want the first slash to begin (try them on prior to beginning). Mark slash points at side seam with non- wax chalk or a marker if desired. Looks best when slashes on right/left legs are not symmetrical but haphazard or arbitrary.

Insert scissor tip in front of side seam and cut or slash (carefully) from one end to the other. Note that every slash adds ease and slashing the side seam will dramatically alter the fit.

Once slashes have been made, you can distress the edge of the denim, or throw them in the washer/dryer for a worn-in look.

Keep distressing... this doubles as a therapy session! Let out all of your stress on that denim.
