I've been in a huge painting phase since I moved into my new place a couple months ago. I've already painted three larger abstract paintings that are currently above my bed.
This one is a bit more understandable. It's a sylized black and bronze puma... or so i'm calling it.
1. I found the image that this painting was based on from www.deviantart.com (it was titled as being a bear, but it definitely looks more like an animal in the feline family to me)
I printed out a copy of the image and created a grid on top of it.
2. I used an 8" x 8" canvas board and created the same grid on it.
3. Using the grid, i recreated the image on the canvas board.
4. I painted the bronze portion first. then filled in the black background. (retouching with the bronze and black until I was satisfied with the final look.) I also painted the teeth white.
that's it!
It took me not more than a few hours for a couple of days. It was quick and easy and now I just gotta find a place in my room to hang it :D
Hope you guys like this!
I know I do ;D
