so simple!
so.. we wanted a rug for our lounge room cause the coffee table cut the lino.. so we went down to the cheapy shop and got 9 of these bathmat-type rugs for $3 each.. then all i did was sew them together :3 ... it took a lot of effort to get my sewing machine to sew the thicker parts, but 3 hours and ridiculous amounts of swearing and screaming at my machine.. i have the coolest rug ever.. i wanna make it bigger but we bought all the mats the shop had soooo now i have to wait...

That's really awesome! I've been trying to find a cheap, nice rug, but no luck. Guess I have to look for mats instead!

Wow... such a simple but incredible thrifty idea! I am definitely looking into this, our rug is shot and the last one we "loved" they wanted $800!!!!! Are you kidding? So, you have inspired me. Thanks!
