Do both. Photograph your items for sale and post them on an online store and then put them for sale at a consignment shop. If they sell at the shop, remove them from the online store and vice versa.

Etsy has a bunch of weird rules about listing items that you currently have for sale in other places. If they found out that you were selling the same item elsewhere, your shop could get closed down.

If you want to do both, it would be best to have a separate inventory for each place you're selling things.

Also, figure out what percentage of the sale cost would be taken for commission fees from each place. Consignment shops sometimes want a pretty hefty fee (sometimes 20% or more). Etsy is 3.5% per sale, plus $0.20 per listing. PayPal and Etsy's credit card system also take another 2.75-3.5% per transaction, in addition to $0.25 or so for international/different currency sales.

There are other good online options as well, like CraftCafe.co, which only charges a monthly fee (between $3 and $5 a month, I think, depending on your "subscription").
