I NEED a dress form!!
How do you make a skirt puffy?
Getting a tulle skirt to wear underneath it but I would recommend also to make a bubble skirt. Found this tutorial on here

Altered clothing
I took a old pair of men's jeans and made them into a pair of boyfriend style jeans, and also i picked up a vintage hand made dress at goodwill and I took it in about 2 sizes to fit me
Altered clothing
I WISH it worked like that.... it just gives you the excuse to buy more because you can change it or use it
Altered clothing
i dont alter my clothes but maybe i should then i would stop spending money
Altered clothing
What have you been altering recently? any total rehabs?
I have some faux leather pants to take in, and a large mens t shirt to turn into a dress.
and i'm sure a few others.
Without sleeves
Yes, I've put sleeves into a sleeveless dress before.
For this, I used chiffon, and also for another dress I used black lace fabric.
There's various ways of doing this, depending on the armholes on your sleeveless dress.
Are you an experienced dressmaker, Vivienne?
Without sleeves
I'd love advice on this too, if anyone has any tips!
What to do with old bras
What about using them to make cute slip dresses? They would be really easy to sew!
What to do with old bras
You can make bandeau bras. I've wanted to try to make them for a while now. You can search for tutorials on Youtube.
What to do with old bras
hmmm good
Without sleeves
Has anyone put sleeves into sleevesless dress with success? I have few evening dress but nowadays don't like to show my upper arms. If they have how! please. Know you can buy cover up but not the same they can spoil the look of the dress.
Dressforms for unusual shapes
I had the same problem. I bought an adjustable dress form that was close in most measurements then I added foam to fill out the rest. The dress form looks a bit silly but it has been very effective.
Dressforms for unusual shapes
I made one with duct tape when I first started sewing which was basic but did the job. Put a t-shirt on, get a friend to wrap you in lots and lots of duct tape until it becomes solid, then cut the t-shirt up the back, stuff it with stuffing and then tape the opening closed!
I wish I'd made a tutorial at the time but I recently discovered amazing purple duct tape at Hobby Craft so maybe I'll make a new one with that.
Dressforms for unusual shapes
You can buy a conventional dressform that fits the smallest part of you and pad the other areas to fit your measurments. Or make your own using an old t-shirt, duct tape and expandable foam.
