Not all projects are tutorials. Projects with instructions will have a red "How-To" banner on the page of projects. Those without instructions will not have a banner across the photo.

This is a wonderful site! I just joined, but I am puzzled......
I have noticed that some of the projects on this site show instructions and some don't. Is there a reason why? When I click on the title the instructions don't come up. Also, when I press print it shows the picture and a few things but stops before showing the instructions...

    Thank you!

Been trying to make a friendship bracelet forever. Couldn't get the hang of it.

Figured out I could make one on a spool loom .. Love it

Our local school had a special month long event to teach kids "How To Make a ...." I made this video with my 10 year old friend to help her - help her friends learn to loom knit for charity - Love this kid - the last 5 minutes are hilarious..

I'd say no as well...at least, not much. I made a bag out of acrylic yarn once with a cotton stripe, then washed it...the cotton part shrank a bit, but there didn't seem to be any difference for the acrylic yarn part of the bag.

Hand wash it with hot water gently so tht the color won't come off

I'm in the same boat as you, but I did enjoy and easily understand these tutorials. I just have yet to actually do it. http://www.theartofmegan.com/yarn

From what I've read about acrylics and from my washing experiences, I'd say no. My crocheted projects have not shrunk, but I was a gentle handwasher. And any machine made knits or crochets, they've never shrunk on me, even when I just throw them in the washer and dryer.

I'd suggest putting it through an extra hot wash in a washing machine and then leaving it to hang dry indoors. It should shrink up- the only problem is its hard to tell how much it will shrink!

I knitted a hat with some acrylic yarn and it turns out my gauge was WAY OFF and now the hat's about 1-2 inches too big everywhere!
Is there any way to shrink acrylic yarn without it melting?

I am looking for others that do spinning either on a wheel or drop spindle. I want to get into spinning art yarn and need advice on purchasing a wheel and preparing wool fleece etc.
    Thanks!

I am terrified of attempting a sweater. I know I shouldn't be afraid of THE SWEATER, but that damn thing is intimidating. Lol. I can knit and crochet. I just have never attempted anything of such a scale before. I have wanted to make one for a while now. I am on the edge of the sweater cliff. Any advice? Is it less scary than it seems?

I have a tutorial for something similar to the cake :)
    http://www.cutoutandkeep.net/projects/ombre-polymer-clay-cake

I guess tips I didn't mention there would be to:
-scratch the clay in circular motions to texture it
-make the inner frosting layers bigger than I did in my tutorial
-use a cookie cutter rather than roll everything out free-handed like i did so you won't have to flatten it afterwards to make it even (it makes a big difference: without http://panda314.tumblr.com/post/29158948321, and with: http://panda314.tumblr.com/post/36475802064)
-spread the TLS further down the side of the cake

Yes you can create your own tags; it’s at the top when you are posting your projects. You can type in all tags related to your project there.

I'm new to this site.. So maybe I'm not doing something right.. Can I create my own tags or must I use the suggested tags? Trying to have the word, Loom Knitting as a tag. It's not happening only Loom Work.
