Anyone Have Experience Sewing Stretchy Fabric on a Regular Sewing Machine?

Anyone Have Experience Sewing Stretchy Fabric on a Regular Sewing Machine?

I sew with knit all the time on a home sewing machine,
I use a foot you can buy for about 5.00 on Amazon.
it works better then a walking foot, making less waves..
it is call a knit/tricot foot. It has a long handle like peice, which goes behind your needle bar. And just attach it as you do any snap on foot.
I like it much better.
It will work for mist snap on feet sewing machines.. Brother, Kenmore, jonone and others.

Sewing Machine Needle Keeps Snapping. Please Help!!!

Hope you're all sorted now, but if you're still having problems it's also worth checking that the needle is in securely and you've tightened the screw as much as you can. If it isn't secured the movement of the machine can cause it to move off course and hit the needle plate which will break it. Happy sewing!

Ghost in the sewing machine!

I have a computerized machine with an LED panel, and one day my machine started back stitching at the start of every seam and I couldn't figure out why. Well, apparently it's a feature on the screen you can click on and off. I was amazed, it saves me time now. Shock

Sewing Machine Needle Keeps Snapping. Please Help!!!

I agree with Cat. It all depends on what type of fabric you are using and if the needle is made for that type of fabric. For canvas weight, or multiple layers of fabric (like when sewing up a handbag) I use a size 100/16 needle. For quilting cotton with just 2 layers a 80/12 will work just fine. Let me know if this helps. Happy

What kind of fabric are you using? My needles tend to snap when I'm sewing with heavy-weight fabric and the wrong type of needle. Sewing

Ghost in the sewing machine!

Has your sewing machine ever started sewing backwards? My one did and I was freaking out - I didn't even realise there was a button for it on the back of my machine. Embarrassed

Need Tee shirt Pattern for Doxies

Hi, I’m looking for a sleeveless teeshirt pattern for my Doxies - without the legs. Purchased tees never fit right, so I’d like to sew them. My girls are 15 lbs. and 20 lbs. and, of course, have very short legs, so it’s very difficult to fit them. I’ve found lots of patterns for coats and sweaters and harnesses, but no teeshirt patterns. I hope someone can point me in the right direction.
Thanks, MaryJane

Question on Tutorials

I would direct this Question to Cat. There is a 'email us' button on the very bottom of every page.
If it was me I would post the tutorial but choose to give credit to the pattern makers.
Sincerely, Mistress Nora
