You could perhaps use the brie boxes as selotape or ribbon dispensers. They would look great decoupaged, like monika suggested. You could perhaps use the glass and mirror shards to make mosaic frames for pictures or mirrors.

Theres a couple on CO+K that are playing card books. I like the jar/book idea, you could also do a day a page calendar, so that he will have a new reason every day.

@Gertie. Have you heard of pin-up girls vintage clothing, http://www.pinupgirlclothing.com/ I'm sure they do patterns too, (try looking on ebay). I think they mostly do underwear but I think you can get swimwear too.

You could try a nice head scarf with some dangly earings. I have a friend who lost her hair and she wears a slouchy hat when its cold and always looks cute.
If you really miss your hair how about a wig. Some of the brightly coloured ones that people use for cosplay are pretty awesome.

Hey girls, I invited my best friend and she was really keen on the idea. Since the wedding is in a different part of the country we are taking some holiday in the following week and making it a mini break. Thanks for the advice now I just have the gift to worry about!

Nariamma: I don't think you should feel bad about your postcards. It takes time to crochet motifs like the one you put on debs card. The more swaps you do the more you will know what to expect. Feel pleased when you have completed the swap! :D

i have a lot of different crafting interests too, I wouldn't say I was organised in my approach to what I do though. I mostly use birthdays, holidays and swaps to dictate my crafting and make things for me in between. If I have a birthday as a deadline, I know I have to finish the item before then. I'll decide what to make based on the person and whatever craft I'm keen on at the moment, I try to vary it so that one person doesn't always get jewellry or handmade notebooks etc.
I also use the list feature on here and pinterest to organise things I want to make.

@ Tamara: I went and got your package from the postoffice yesterday. Thank you loads, everything is great.
Here's my first resolution: to eat more healthily:
She sent me healthy snacks (dried cranberrys, yogurt covered raisins [I seriously LOVE these I once bought a multipack and ate all the packs in a weekend-oops!], dried mango, breakfast biscuits & mini-haribo/chocolate coin). All with inspirational quotes, which I'm going to keep after I've eaten all the snacks. A healthy living magazine, which I've never actually bought before & a recipe book of healthy recipes.
I also wanted to write more letters, so she sent me this gorgeous letter writing set:
And finally I'm trying to return my library books on time (I'm really awful at this!) So she made me this pretty bookmark with a section to slide the due date into. I love the purple colours and key charm.

You're welcome tamara! I'm glad you liked everything. Just to recap for everyone Tamara's resolutions were to be more motivated to go to the gym, to find more time for scrapbooking & card making & to eat more healthily. If you want to know where I sourced any of the scrapbooking stuff pm me.
I forgot to say when i sent out that the blank pages in the recipe book are so you can write in our own, and the envelopes are for any recipes you rip out of magazines or photocopy from books.
I think your swap has arrived, I have a package thats gone to the sorting office, I need to go collect it tomorrow. I'll let you when I have it. x

I was wondering if anyone could help me out on this, as I don't know much about wedding etiquette and I know its a tricky subject that a lot of people get upset about.
A male friend has kindly invited me to his wedding (the wedding not just the reception).
Background: this friend is actually an old housemate from a houseshare I lived in about 3 years ago. We exchange texts a couple of times a year and maybe the odd phone call but other than that we don't know much about each others lives and I've never met his fiance. As an added complication I slept with him a couple of times when we lived together but it was never a relationship.
I'd like to go to the wedding but I'm worried I'll feel like the biggest gooseberry alive, as the groom is the only person i'll know. I'm not really the sort of person who is fine in at a party where they don't know anyone else and I always feel awkward at weddings anyway. However, the invite says 'Libby plus guest' as I'm single I won't be bringing a boyfriend but I was thinking I might take a friend. Maybe my best friend (who is female). Is this acceptable? Have other people taken friends with them to weddings? Or if you're married would you be annoyed if someone had done this at your wedding?
