My bracelet from Pam arrived! She actually sent me two and a postcard from Idaho. The colours are fab and I really like those ones with sliding clasps- nice and easy to get on and off.

Smash Books anybody?

Hey! I have a smashbook but its one I made myself rather than one of the official smashbook ones. I do have the pen and a couple of the accessories. I also ordered from amazon, but I think they arrived reasonably quickly.
I don't think you need to have loads of the branded stuff to make it look nice, its just something that's creative and personal to you. I like paperchase for stickers and washi tape and that kind of thing. A letter stamp set is also quite a useful thing to have, (I think mine came from dunelm mill for around £1).
Theres some great tutes and videos for smashbooking on you tube and its nice to see what other people have done. I started a pinterest board for smashbooking ideas http://pinterest.com/greenbeantango/smash-book-ideas/ here it is if you fancy a look.
If I remember I'll take a photo of the pages I've done but they're not great and are mostly fashion-based.

@ Krista I've taken to wearing more high waisted items since the fashions have sung back this way and they are easier to get hold of than they used to be (at least in the uk). My fave jeans at the moment are high waisted (I too have to wear a belt), but instead of bum crack issues- I have a crotch pocket problem. Its partly because I lost a little weight since I bought them and partly because I have quite chunky legs from running and walking and I needed the extra fabric on the thighs and calves.
@Monika I had to buy a new sports bra after 2 boys kindly pointed out that I had a very bouncy chest, when I was out running. I use this one called shock absorber which is fantastic and totally passes the jump test. I may be slightly less chesty than you though.

Female rock bands

All these suggestions are great! I have heard of a couple of them. I do listen to a lot of paramore but I'm not so keen on their new stuff as well as Kenotia (not together anymore) and circa survive. Evanescence of course are classic. I stumbled onto Halestorm on spotify the otherday, by accident, I'll have to give them another listen.
@Hella I watched the runways film a couple of months ago and thought it was really cool. My cousin has Joan Jett's I love rock and roll on vinyl, from when she was a teen : )
@Mel I do quite like the yeah yeah yeahs. Do you ever listen to the subways? (Theres a girl in the band although I think the male frontman does quite a bit of the singing too). The joy formidable are also good, I saw them live in Jan. Defo will check out the rock string quartet.
I listen to so many male bands and singers I sometimes like get sick of boys moaning about girls or showing off, I just want listen to kick-ass female singers instead.

Hey everyone! Sign-ups are now closed and I've amended the initial post to show everyones birthdays. The birthdays are pretty evenly spaced which is cool. I'll send the addresses round a couple of weeks before, if you'd like any of them earlier than that let me know.
Everyone has been in touch with an update on how they are getting on with Sally's birthday gram so thats great! Really looking forward to this round, I think its gonna be a good one!

I'm lucky I'm living in a great shared house at the moment, with two lovely (also single) ladies. We keep each other company and have a laugh. I also have a good mixture of friends at the moment, coupled up ones and single ones, so I can do fun day trips and chilled out things with coupled up friends and crazy drunken parties with my single friends. I have a couple of older unmarried (& childless) friends that are pretty happy with their lives as they are and don't wish they were in relationships. Whenever I feel lonely about being single I try to remember that it isn't the be all and end all if I don't meet someone, I can still be content.

I'm the same Monika, I really want to be altering and making clothes for summer! I finished off a dress this weekend and have bought all the materials I need to make a summer top. I also have a long skirt that I bought in a charity shop thats 2 sizes too big that I need to alter down.
I was doing some colouring in last night in my mandala colouring book and I had this idea about cutting all the circles out covering, them in stickyback and sticking them on my wall in a cool wall display. So I want to do that now too.
I also had a idea for an embroidery last night that I started sketching- a feather made of different embroidery stitches.
Does anyone ever have so many ideas they don't know which ones to make?

Hey Hayley! I got your package last week I've just been a bit busy to post. Here it is:
She sent me a cat plush- a glamour puss! I was impressed that you managed to use almost all of the stash, the only thing she didn't use is the skull bracelet, which she sent back fixed (he was missing an eye). Unfortunately, i think he's destined to be one eyed as since wearing it the other eye fell out! I'm sorry the bracelet was too small it was quite loose on me so I thought it would be big enough. Can you add an extension chain?

You could make lavender sachets, rice bags (that you can heat up or cool down to put on aches and pains) or eye masks to put in the bags. You could make them in fabrics that match each of their personal styles.

Here are the photos of Sanne's Package (finally, sorry about the wait guys).
I got 4 cute cards (I particularly like the whale one), blue pom pom hair grips and keyring, a pink spotty needlebook (exactly what I needed thanks Sanne) a teal hairband (looks really cute with my bun hair for work), apple stickers and felt stars and candy- yum!
This was a fun swap! I'd definately do it again

Hi everyone! Welcome to the birthday-gram thread!
Birthday grams are like happy-grams but are especially for birthdays. On CO+K everyone is friendly and likes to share the love and what’s a better way than sending someone a birthday card?
This swap is available to vets only and you must be able to commit to sending internationally.
The idea is that I will compile a list of everyone who is participating, with their addresses and birthdays. I will post a list of everyone’s birthday when the board opens. When someone’s birthday is coming up I'll e-mail round a reminder with address info a couple of weeks beforehand and everyone will send out a card and a small present. That way the birthday-girl will get a cascade of cards and gifts from all her friends on CO+K.
WARNING! A Lot of info below! Please read carefully.
This is an all year swap! (Phew!) You will need to send out for every member’s birthday. Please only sign up if you’re happy to do this. I know this is a big commitment (in postage as well as with effort). I will be posting a list of birthdays at the beginning so that people can plan ahead, as well as sending around alerts a couple of weeks beforehand.
I will also endeavour to keep track of what is sent and received. So please, please, please post a message or teaser photo on the board (or message me) everytime you mail out. People who receive items please post when you receive with photos. We all like to see what everyone gets! : ) This year I will try and keep the send out/received ratio even for everyone, so if we lose a member along the way I will ask for a swap angel. (Sorry to say it but if anyone of flakes on the board completely without contacting me I’ll be posting their name on the incomplete swap board).
It’s always better to send out late than not at all. We all have busy lives and even me (as swap host I should be setting a good example : /) sent out late for a few birthdays last year, we don’t mind as long as you let us know!

1 x small present
This isn’t a handmade only swap, (we obviously all prefer handmade being that we’re crafters) but store-bought items & cards are fine to send too.
Finally, if you move house during the swap can you make sure you send me your new address, so I can keep everyone updated. I will always give out the most up to date addresses for everyone, so please make sure you use the address I give out not any previous addresses you may have.

Hey Krista! I got your package yesterday! I haven't taken photos yet as I was literally in and out the house before going away for the weekend. Thank you for everything! I like the vintage fabric and purple lace, as well as the semi precious beads. My housemate was eyeing up the pattern and I think we may have a sewing day and try it out! Perhaps in the future you could try attaching the charms to some ribbon or binding then sewing that onto the fabric, that may be more manageable. Glad you got it sorted in the end.

I just had a thought. I may split the board into 6 monthly sections, people could commit to the whole year or just the 6 months that their birthday was within. A new intake of people joining in the 2nd 6 months would hopefully balance out the people that had left and make it more even for the people that were sending out for every birthday. What do people think?
