I don't know about the banana peel but be careful with the fruits.. the acid in them can damage your tooth enamel making them even more likely to stain and weaken to cavities. Baking soda is the best "natural" way I can think of without strips or bleaching.

Boob problem...
Started over 1 year ago · Last post 2 months ago ·
Its natural.... no ones body is proportionate and unfortunately it can be noticeable in some area's more then others.
Breast growth can have to do with hormone levels which as you know are temperamental and can have many factors that contribute to change. I know someone who had a miscarriage and the overflow and stoppage or hormones resulted in asymmetrical boobs. Talk to your doctor if your concerned, you can even get on the pill to regulate your hormones.
You can always try push-up bras with removable padding to even things out. I know places also sell "cutlets" which are gel inserts to wear with your normal bras.

Should I take off my mascara before bed??
Started over 3 years ago · Last post 7 months ago ·
Take it off, its not good for you or your pillowcase.
I have a hard time remembering to remove my makeup before bed which is SOOOO much better for your skin so I invested in some makeup removing wipes that make it easy and hassle free. Yes, you could do the same thing by simply washing your face but when you're about to collapse at the end of the night you'll be grateful to have something quick, easy and mess free.

It's suppose to make like a messy bun / pony tail isnt it? Like stick your hair in the middle and tuck strands around the hooks?
at least that's what I thought...

The Pill Rant
Started 10 months ago · Last post 2 months ago ·
That sucks :/ guess you gotta go with whatever works best for you... Only suggestion I have when it comes to skin is just try to keep it as clean as possible. Use oil free soap and moisturizer to achieve a good balance for your skin. Don't wear makeup when you don't have to and use something oil free or mineral based when you do... oh and don't touch your face and keep your hair pulled back - hair and hands have lots of oils that can rub off and irritate your skin.

Need Help with my Thin Hair!!
Started 9 months ago · Last post 5 months ago ·
I'm in the middle of growing my hair out, it just got past that shoulder length so now I can wear it down more. I wore my hair in a Gibson tuck a lot (see my tutorial :P) which works better with that length then it does now that my hair is longer.... I also researched different braiding techniques to add something special even when my hair was down or back in a pony tale. My favorites where a waterfall braid, a half dutch, and a bohemian twist.
My hair isn't very thick either so I have to work for volume... teasing is probably the strongest but it can be brutal on your hair so I wouldn't recommend it for every day. What ever you use whether it be a curling iron, hair rollers or brush use a large round barrel; lift the roots and apply hair spray and it will volumize your hair.

The Pill Rant
Started 10 months ago · Last post 2 months ago ·
I dunno...I don't like the idea of Mirena at all...
Mirena doesn't prevent contraception only pregnancies, which sounds the same but isn't. You can still conceive but the zygote wont attached to the uterine wall because Mirena irritates your uterus to keep the wall thin and infertile. From what I remember it has hormones but not enough to typically prevent ovulation. As a result the chance for ectopic pregnancies are higher as well as pelvic infections, cysts and cancer.
I've been on a few kinds of bc pills (just because of insurance changes and such) but they've all been a combination low dose pill. The nice thing is in addition to the protection it does help my skin, menstrual pain and my periods have become so light they only last a few days. It takes a few months for your body to get used to the steady stream of hormones followed by a sudden drop but if you stick with you, I think you'll see the benefits. Also, the pill pack is usually on a 3 week cycle so although you may have your period on 24-30th this month it will rotate each pack so you won't get it the same time every month (but it will be a consistent 3 weeks off 1 week on). I like knowing exactly what to expect from my period and (with your doctors approval) you can even skip your period a month if you want to and just continue on to a new pack :) perfect for those special occasions.
Just remember not every bc pill acts the same, talk to your doctor (I know I sound like a commercial) to find out which one will be best for you.
GL!

Hairy pits
Started over 1 year ago · Last post 9 months ago ·
We don't need body hair like we use to farther back in the evolutionary chain... I see no problem in removing it but it also wont hurt to keep it if that's what to do.
I'm half Hispanic so hair on me tends to be more noticeable. I shave my arm pits and my legs and I occasionally will tweeze my upper lip but the hair on my arms I have learned to except. I'm extremely lucky my bikini area is naturally a neat triangle (just keep it trimmed for length) because I do not like shaving there at all, it's super irritating.... but if your looking to keep your under arm hair but don't want it to look gross keep it trimmed with a bikini trimmer.

Want to add a bright colour to my platinum hair, style help needed
Started 10 months ago · Last post 10 months ago ·
I'd just dye the tips all the way around, pink is always a good color. That way if you want to change it up you don't have to wait long for it to grow out and it's not too "extreme"
or you could do something even more subtle like peek-a-boos
or if you can manage a really soft pink ombre I think it pairs well with platinum

Nail Foils
Started 11 months ago · Last post 10 months ago ·
I've seen them all over the place. Target, cvs, ulta, Claire's and icings. Claire's and icings have their own brand that works well but the more general stores carry Sally Hanson which gives you more foils and a greater range of sizes. The prices I've seen range from $6.00 - $13 (for the 20+ foils SH sells) and they are super easy to apply (goes on clean in like no time at all), last at least a full week and the designs are amazing.
Just be sure to buff and clean nails, and put a clear coat over to seal.

Hair Help!!
Started 11 months ago · Last post 11 months ago ·
I had the same issue, I got tired of the same ol messy bun so I've been looking around and have found some great ideas :D
Check out youtube for braid tutorials, you can add so much interesting texture and shapes to your hair with braids whether you wear it up or down. Waterfall braids are cool but I like the half-french, dutch style braids best.
Another cute style which I actually found worked better before my hair started growing out is the topsie-turvey thing but not pushed all the way through, so it looks like a bun (lol sorry I didn't explain that well). When you pin it in place it looks super fancy but is so simple.... same with a sock bun (and I know there's a tutorial on here for that one :D).

Temporary Lightening For Dark Eyebrows?
Started 12 months ago · Last post 12 months ago ·
Was at sally beauty supplies and came across a ton of temp "highlighting" wands and "touch-up sticks for hair" and thought of you. I think these would work well for a blond looking eye brow, for example...

Temporary Lightening For Dark Eyebrows?
Started 12 months ago · Last post 12 months ago ·
Mmm you may need to apply it again depending on the strength of your makeup/ how many changes you need. The best way to make make-up last is by setting it with hairspray. Close you're eyes, take a deep breath, and spray a strong hold can hairspray a 6-10in away from your face :P

Temporary Lightening For Dark Eyebrows?
Started 12 months ago · Last post 12 months ago ·
Depending on the stage, stage lighting tends to washout eye brows anyways... just don't add any make up to the brow and do a test recording with the wig on stage (if you're able) to see how it looks. If that isn't a look that works then you'll need to change the color. I don't recommend dying your eye brows yourself because it can be dangerous so another solution could be to use mac foundation (or whatever stage makeup you have) and completely cover your eye brows till they look like their gone, then use a very light brown eye shadow with an angle brush or a light brown brow pencil to draw in new ones, just make sure it's done softly and it should look fairly natural on stage. GL :)

How long is an electric razor suppose to work?
Started 12 months ago · Last post 12 months ago ·
When I was young, like early teens, I used an electric razor and had the same problem. I don't think they put as much energy into making nice electric razors for women as they do for men... My advice keep taking care of them like you are (i'm not sure how long they are meant to last but I'd say a year) and keep your legs exfoliated and moisturized especially before you shave. I always get the best manual razor shaves with no irritation when I do this... You'll want to put lotion on your legs daily and use a body scrub and loofah or a pumas stone and exfoliate every time you're in the shower. This will polish your legs from dried, dead skin that can cause your razor to lag and the hair to become in grown.
See if that helps but if you're still having issues it might be time for a new razor :P
Oh, also I like to use Skintimate shave cream (vs gel) because its like body butter and makes your legs super soft. And remember to put lotion on after you shave! Hydrated legs are happy legs XD

Acrylic Nails and Pain
Started 12 months ago · Last post 4 months ago ·
Eh... I tried them once and HATED them. I just couldn't stand the feel/weight of them on my nails not to mention the damage to the actual nail. I prefer to keep mine on the shorter side and healthy with a clean french tip when I paint them.
But to get back to your point I think your suspicions are correct... between the abuse to the actual nail and the acrylic squeezing on top, not allowing the nail to breathe I'm sure that what's causing the pain.
You'll have to wait it out I suppose :P

Paint brushes as makeup brushes
Started 12 months ago · Last post 12 months ago ·
I'm sure some of the brushes would work just fine but others... eh. Make up brushes are usually much softer with finer hair where as paint brushes tend to be stiffer and more coarse (they have to hold heavy materials). I think "eye shadow" brushes would be fine but I wouldn't recommend it for foundation or blush...

Curling short hair?
Started about 1 year ago · Last post about 1 year ago ·
I've curled my sister's hair when it was short for my other sister's wedding and I went about it like this...
Starting with the bottom layer I used 1/4" curling iron to curl all around, sprayed a light layer of hairspray on the underside (so the outside doesn't look crunchy) and repeated for a few more layers... Once you're layers start getting longer you can switch to a larger barrel (1/2" curling iron) and curl the rest all the way over to the top, spraying a light coat of hairspray on the underside of each layer. To define the curls around the face I did some pin curls, using my fingers to twist a few loops, bobby pinned them in place, sprayed them with hair spray and let them set. When it's all done I'll either flip the hair upside down and loosely run my fingers through it to soften the curls, or if they're strong enough use a low setting on a blow drier. Finish with an all over spray of hair spray and add any hair accessories you'd like to clip in
Whoa I just realized how long that all was... gl on styling your hair :D

Does anyone know how to do this?
Started about 1 year ago · Last post about 1 year ago ·
To get a vibrant color (especially with dark hair) you'll need to bleach your whole head. Color the top, leaving the end pieces blond and then once done (ie, colored, washed, dried) go back and do the tips with the second color.
At least that's how I'd do it :S

Nail polish help!
Started about 1 year ago · Last post 10 months ago ·
try using nail file to rough up the surface of your nails. It gives the polish something to grip to... same idea as sanding wood before you paint.
You'll also want to use a single base coat, 2 coats of your color and a single finishing coat... and really let each coat DRY before applying the next

Prom help!
Started about 1 year ago · Last post about 1 year ago ·
I was lucky, my older sister is naturally gifted when it comes to hair and makeup. She did my hair as well as a few of my friends... for me she curled and pinned up in a pile of hair that trickled down the back of my neck.. it was very "Pride and Prejudice". My friend wanted Marie Antoinette hair, my sister bouffanted her bangs and the top of her hair and pinned long ringlet curls that flowed down from the crown of her head.
I've found that pinned up-dos (with lots of bobby pins and hair spray) stay/last better then hair that's down because it gets touched less and doesn't move around. My sister was in theater so she had lots of great stage makeup that lasted through eating, dancing and other "activities". I recommend something strong that will show up in all the pictures you'll be taking that night but always be sure it complements your skin, eye color and outfit.

Hair Straightening Tips?
Started over 2 years ago · Last post about 1 year ago ·
I have semi-wavy hair so straitening is always tricky... heat protection spray (I use tresemme)will help keep it smooth and the ends from splitting and frizzing. I section my hair layer by layer starting with from the bottom and working my way up. I also brush the section with one hand and follow with the straightener in the other in one motion.

short hair
Started over 1 year ago · Last post about 1 year ago ·
I had short, layered hair in the back with long sections in the front back in high school... I liked it but it was a lot of up keep. It took a long time to grow it out and when I finally did I went to get it layers put in and the woman BUTCHERED my hair. Instead of layering she cut my hair almost two different lengths and I had to cut it so short to even it out again. PinkWeed's advice is best: keep it cut clean and healthy until it grows to the length you want.

Tattoos
Started almost 2 years ago · Last post 10 months ago ·
I want tattoos but I'm running into a couple of problems... the number one being cost. I'm a poor college student so anytime I have money there's always a more responsible way to use it. The first tattoos I want I designed myself - a wing on each ankle, one with a key intertwined the other with a locket. I also want a small hidden mickey (can't tell you where or else it wouldn't be hidden!) as a small homage to my love for Disney. Finally I want an orange/pink/purple jelly fish swimming down my lower neck and shoulder blade. This is the one I have the biggest problem with because I just can't stand the idea of getting married (which I'm not yet) in a beautiful wedding gown but having this tat distracting from it. I know it's silly because tattoos are something just live with but I can't help but want my skin (what's showing) clear for that day.
