I'm sorry :(
I had a bad hair cut experience too.... my hair was long and I wanted to put layers in. The woman literally took half my hair a cut it about ear high and left the under layer long. I had to chop it all to even it out and it took forever to grow back. I sobbed and felt super vein but it's hard when you don't have much choice in the way your hair looks.
It's better that you cut it and fixed it rather then lived with a bad cut... my sister cut her hair too short once and started wearing scarf wraps and thick knitted or crocheted head bands. It looked super cute and bo-ho. You could also try fun hair clips and bows that can make your look special since you can't style much.

Can anyone suggest a pattern close?

Simplicity has a lot of "steam punk" style patterns now. Here's a couple of patterns you can modify or combine

Whiter teeth?
Started 2 months ago · Last post about 1 month ago ·
I don't know about the banana peel but be careful with the fruits.. the acid in them can damage your tooth enamel making them even more likely to stain and weaken to cavities. Baking soda is the best "natural" way I can think of without strips or bleaching.

Why do guys get mad...

Sometimes the best way to fight stereotypes are to laugh at them... I don't see the point of getting indignant by an off-hand joke when there are people all over the world dealing with serious equality issues.

What to do with tall cylindrical glass jars?
Started 2 months ago · Last post 2 months ago ·
My sister has some and she changes it based on the season / holiday.
For Christmas she fills them with ornaments or pine-cones, in spring it will be dried flowers, for Easter it will be colored eggs, in fall leaves and mini-pumpkins, and in summer sand and shells. things like that...

how can i help this?

There is a time and a place to swear. I'm around children a lot so I've learned to replace the words with things that sound similar but wont offend, like sugar instead of shit or fudge instead of fuck....
they all seem to be sweets related.
I don't swear very much unless I'm really annoyed, like Monika said.. you kinda grow out of it when you realize how silly they are to over use.

Wedding guest etiquette
Started 3 months ago · Last post 2 months ago ·
Yes, you should go if you want to.
If it was something they felt awkward about then they would not have invited you (or at least shouldn't have) and because the invitation says plus 1 you can bring anyone you want, date, friend, family etc... Its considered rude to bring someone if the invitation doesn't specify to but other wise it doesn't need to be a "date" to be acceptable
Now if you don't want or feel comfortable going an invitation is yours to accept or reject.

Hypothyroid, Anyone???
Started 4 months ago · Last post 3 months ago ·
That suuuuuucks.
My mother has the opposite.. hyperthyroidism and has to take replacement meds daily.
My friend's sister also had thyroid cancer... her thyroid gland was eventually removed and she has to take meds now too.
I can't imagine how tough it is, the weight gain, the low energy, the emotional instability. All I can say is that it's good that you know what it is and aren't left wondering the reason for all the problems it causes. I'm glad you're staying positive, do your doctors have anything to say about the meds and finding something more effective?

Bad Crafter Blues
Started 3 months ago · Last post 3 months ago ·
Ever since I started working regularly I haven't been crafting like I used to...
And it's not like I work any more then most people.. probably less since so many people have to work overtime or two jobs to make ends meet - but my free time after work isn't spent crafting anymore and I miss it.
I think my biggest problem is I like to dive into projects for hours at a time and having to break just isn't my thing. Anyone have this problem? Or have any suggestions on small projects to get me going again?

Coping with Body Image
Started 3 months ago · Last post 3 months ago ·
I think your main concern should just be being healthy.
If you're feeling uncomfortable then do something about it, eat a little better or get out and be active but there's no point in obsessing and not doing anything which isn't good for you mentally or physically.
I think it's important to be happy with yourself... and not just except but also celebrate the things you can't change - the things that make you, you. But weight isn't something that you're stuck with... it might be more work for some then others but if it's what you need to change to be healthier and happier, why not? I will never have a thin frame or a fast metabolism (which blows) but I can control what I eat and how often go for a run and in the end it helps my self esteem and my energy.
I don't think you should be so hard on yourself - at the moment I'm struggling a little myself but I try to take it one days at a time. Eat a little better, if you slip and give in to junk food it doesn't do any good to feel guilty - go hit the gym to make up for it. Also, dress the body you have now the best you possibly can instead of obsessing over the one you want and I promise you'll look just as beautiful.
If this doesn't sound like you, if you're honestly at a good weight and just being self conscious then stop listening to that negative voice in your head understand every person is insecure, jealous or wishful over some part of their body. You are your own worst critique....

Boob problem...
Started over 1 year ago · Last post about 1 month ago ·
Its natural.... no ones body is proportionate and unfortunately it can be noticeable in some area's more then others.
Breast growth can have to do with hormone levels which as you know are temperamental and can have many factors that contribute to change. I know someone who had a miscarriage and the overflow and stoppage or hormones resulted in asymmetrical boobs. Talk to your doctor if your concerned, you can even get on the pill to regulate your hormones.
You can always try push-up bras with removable padding to even things out. I know places also sell "cutlets" which are gel inserts to wear with your normal bras.

Gay Marriage
Started 6 months ago · Last post about 1 month ago ·
Marriage is a religious institution and shouldn't be a part of the legal system at all.
That isn't to say I'm against marriage (cause I'm def not) but we should really change any legal ideas of marriage to Civil Union for EVERYONE but with more rights. That way the people who want to keep their idea of marriage "sacred" can do so in their own church and leave the rest of us out of it.
I don't know if anyone has heard of the rapper Macklemore, he's awesome and wrote an awesome song called "Same Love"

Trying to dress nicer...
Started 4 months ago · Last post 4 months ago ·
I was a once art student... I graduated with a humanities degree and got an office job where I needed to dress nice.
I was tired of buying cheep, teenage looking clothes that fell apart so I started shopping at places I wouldn't normally try and loved it. My favorite stores now are Gap, Macy's, New York and Company and I LOVE the Limited. You'd be surprised - prices can be really good especially with sales and coupons - sign up for free memberships and rewards programs.
It's alright to spend a little extra money on something so long as it's a quality piece you can get a lot of use out of - like a great pair of jeans or slacks, basic tops that can be worn it different ways over and over again. I love that I take pride in the way I look now - my confidence is much higher knowing I look my best and my age.
Good luck :D post some before and after pictures

Wanting to learn to crochet - how did you learn?
Started almost 2 years ago · Last post 4 months ago ·
My grandmother taught me when I was 6 or 7,,,, I learned the basics and then started looking for patterns online, I learned new stitches and could make my own patterns. Crocheting is a lot of fun and very relaxing, it's forgiving too - if you ever mess up you just undo a few stitches and can pick back up right where you left off.
I suggest a book with pictures... learn the language of each stitch abbreviation and keep practicing

What are your winter clothing staples?
Started 7 months ago · Last post 5 months ago ·
skinny jeans,
boots - both riding boots and bear paws
SOCKS - I never wear socks the rest of the year because I'm in ballet flats, heels, or sandals most the time but winter means boots and boots means the warmest brightest funniest socks because no one sees them anyways :D
leggings / tights - dresses and skirts all year!
Scarves - an awesome accessory that's only acceptable part of the year :(

Should I take off my mascara before bed??
Started over 3 years ago · Last post 6 months ago ·
Take it off, its not good for you or your pillowcase.
I have a hard time remembering to remove my makeup before bed which is SOOOO much better for your skin so I invested in some makeup removing wipes that make it easy and hassle free. Yes, you could do the same thing by simply washing your face but when you're about to collapse at the end of the night you'll be grateful to have something quick, easy and mess free.

Crafty shabby-chic bedroom ideas?
Started 7 months ago · Last post 3 months ago ·
Try quilt making... quilts can be a work of art in themselves and just say cozy chic. It can really soften the edges of a hard lines of an ikea bed. Also try vintage pillows or fabric, go thrift shopping or check out garage sales for accessories you may not have thought of but would look perfect once in your room. For example I fount an extremely ornate BRIGHT pink picture frame I would have never guessed was my style but it looks so cute on my black shelves! The pop of color is great and the fanciness adds something special. Another idea is to use scrapbook paper to cover furniture (see my ikea dresser project) and maybe find a great funky light fixture to be the focal point of the room.
What ever you decide I totally encourage you to make a space that's all your own :)
