Need of a horror movie! Sugestions please!

Started 16 days ago · Last post 7 days ago ·
Yeah it's really nice having lots of movies on hand, I'm glad.
We closed in 2008 bc since DVDs came out, making movies cheaper, people starting buying more. & Netflix, RedBox, etc. took all our business. I do miss it a lot still.

Awwww all these cute stories & pictures made me all warm&fuzzy inside! i read them all. made me happier & gives me hope. Thanks guys! Your all so lucky, & have great partners.
Sounds like I need to take some classes, party, or talk to hot musicians more often like you guys! Haha

@plan b, I have the same problem. It's extrememly hard for me to meet/find anyone from anxiety, & when I do I fall too fast & screw it up. So your not alone!

@Libby, good to know! Lol Almost all the people I know in real life & online are married or together , so I feel really bummed & alone a lot. But this thread made me feel better.

All my favorites are heavy on the gore but...Since i don't know how old you are, & you don't like that, here's some tamer ones I can recommend. None of these have very much gore, if at all. Some are more "thrillers". ("Classic" ones are great old horror everyone should see).
    .
More Recent: Willard, orphan, the others, silent hill (kinda fantasy-ish too), the ring, Turistas, white noise, a haunting in Connecticut, insidious, Let me in.
Classic: Rosemary's Baby, Stephen Kings "IT" (very long, but terrifying lol), Misery, Pet Cemetery, Silence of the Lambs, Carrie, Halloween (series, kinda explicit), Childs Play (series, kinda explicit), the shining, Dawn of the dead (classic isnt Gorey at all, remake is), Poltergeist, the people under the stairs, the omen.
    .
Blair witch project is good the first time you watch it & believe it... But it's not good again. Lol a better movie like it is "the st. Francisville experiment", it's amazing but not easy to find.

    Chicken wire and papier maché

Started 19 days ago · Last post 16 days ago ·
I've only ever used plaster. But i remember when covering wire, you have to make sure to pull the strips tight across the wire on the first few layers, so it won't show as much. ...don't know if that works for paper tho.

    too many plushies.

Started 27 days ago · Last post 4 days ago ·
I sell at street fairs near me, but I've never had to have a business license? I just have to pay for the booth space. Try calling the # for the event & ask what you need to sell there.
For online selling you could also check out Etsy.
As for storage, you could put them all in storage bins in a closet? Lol All my plushies just clutter all over my room.

    pencil or charcoal for portraits?

Started about 1 month ago · Last post 18 days ago ·
I'm probably biased bc I hate charcoal honestly, & never use it. Lmao but I also like pencil better, mainly bc charcoals messy & I don't like foolin with it. I also hate those pencil blending sticks, never worked well for me. So I use pencil & blend with my fingers & eraser. Most of the black/white portrait artists I've known mainly use pencil too.
But its mainly a matter of opinion & personal preference... Whatever medium the artist is most comfortable with, is the best to use. Also the "shiny glare" from pencil in the dark areas usually fades on drawings after a while, I've noticed.

Just wondering...Do you seal your charcoal drawings? What with? Bc I have a few I've done, but have no idea how to seal them from smudging/being destroyed.

    red hair

Started 21 days ago · Last post 18 days ago ·
Manic Panic Pillarbox red is my fav color. It is the brightest red they have, (the 2nd close being "wildfire", but it's slightly more orangey then Pillarbox). The more bleached hair you have, the brighter manic panics turn out in my opinion. I have really thick dark brown hair, & it stayed in for about a month 1/2 ...but I don't wash my hair often.

Directions by la riche, is the best wild colors dye to use ..but you can't get it in America.( Just on eBay) its brighter & last longer then manic panic & cost bout the same.

I've never used the Loreal your asking of. But I've seen it work really well for people on YouTube. Lol I actually watched a really good video while ago about it (can't find it now) ...the girl used loreal hi color, & red tinted shampoo/conditioner to maintain it. & it never fades she said. It was probably just the red shampoo keepin it tho.

Going to visit family - need advice and to rant

Started 28 days ago · Last post 3 days ago ·
I was gonna say rent too, but darn, that's dumb! Maybe your parents could rent the car in their name? My sister worked @ enterprise for years, & she said people did that a lot. If they don't wanna lie, they could use the rented car, & you could use theirs? Lol..that's the only thing I can come up with.

    Career Advice Desperately Needed

Started 30 days ago · Last post 27 days ago ·
^^agreed. ...you don't have to major in anything immediately when you go to college (tho it's nicer to do that). The majority of college freshmen are "undetermined". You can take all of those classes you're 1st & 2nd year (art 1, history, writing1 ), & see which you like/enjoy more. Or you can just take all your pre-determined classes (like English, Math, etc.) & get them outta the way, until you figure it out. you choose what you wanna learn & an advisor can help you choose the right class to take.
You can even major/minor in 2 different subjects. (Like major in writing, minor in art)... & get a degree in both. Most of those subjects will show you what jobs you can have in those fields too, when you take the class.
Most people don't figure out what they're going to do until their halfway done with college anyway. Lol

Any Alternative or classic rock suggestions?

Started 7 months ago · Last post 25 days ago ·
Agree with Rawr, knowing some of what you already listen to would be a BIG help. But..

"Smile Empty Soul" is one of my favorite bands. They're from California, & mildly popular. They're more hard rock/alternative tho. But awesome. :p
I love 90s hard rock bands. Fuel, Alice in chains, matchbox 20, the offspring, soundgarden, puddle of mudd, seether, staind, Nirvana ... A good variety of really good hard rock bands. None are classic tho.

    HELP !!!!! STEAMPUNK HELP NEEDED

Started about 1 month ago · Last post 28 days ago ·
Steampunk is victorian dress with mechanical/science twist. Your like mechanics/scientists in an old era. So Lots of black, browns, & mixed metals (gold/brass mostly) & leather.
Men wear suits (at least dress pants, shirt & vest). You can also wear top hats, boots, trench coat, goggles, gloves, colored glasses, eyepatch, gasmask, pocket watch, cane/walking stick, utility belt, science fiction ray gun.
Women wear victorian dresses, or at least a corset. She can also have boots, fishnet stockings, mini hats/hairpiece, gloves, goggles, mini umbrella, mini utility belt or leather pouch pockets (hanging off dress). Also steampunk jewelry like cameo necklaces/brooch, earrings, etc. Both can also carry a leatherish bag/satchel or lil trunk, or women a birdcage as props.
    .
All of clothes/accessories (like hats, goggles, corset, jewelry) can be decorated with (spray painted) brass/gold colored things like keys, clock parts, buttons, coins, wire, fake badges/war medals or natural feathers. You can spraypaint a plastic gun/big water gun gold & glue cardboard cogs to it or wrap in wire (even a clothes hanger), to decorate. You can also put rolled up old looking paper or maps in pockets or use as props (can buy in scrapbooking isle). I'd also recommend dirtying up the clothes with dust (from a sweeper) or dirt a lil ..so it looks like your explorers. Lol
If your on a small budget, try goodwill or resell shops for clothes & fabrics you can restyle. Google a lot of pictures for more ideas! Good luck!

    Un-Natural Coloured Hair.

Started about 1 month ago · Last post about 1 month ago ·
@Eastcoastrainbow ...Thanks, im really loving it. Wow your hairs so pretty! I always wanted to do rainbow of colors like that. :D Most don't stick to my hair tho.
    .
@artykitkat ...It actually was hard to maintain, until I found the right blue dye. Most of them wouldn't stick at all. I finally tried manic panic "rockabilly blue", & it's extremely staining (like it didn't just stain my hair, but my bathroom, skin, walls, everything I touched for a week. Lmao!) It's a pain in the butt at first, but i got used to it. I dont wash my hair often either, & usually cover the blue when i do. So i can usually keep it for a month, & it starts fade to green. :/
I hear "Special Effects" dye is amazing, the best wild color dye u can buy, but they don't sell it here in America. I can only get manic panic. :,(

    Painting Polymer Clay Charms:Bad?

Started 12 months ago · Last post about 1 month ago ·
Actually .... I know someone that makes clay charms as a full-time business (& ive dabbled in it myself). I honestly think customers value the work more if its done completely in clay, no paint. It makes the charms virtually "wear-proof", bc itll never chip/fade/crack. It also takes more time & effort, & you can sell them for more $ that way. So yeah it does make a difference.
    .
If its done completely in paint, your gonna run into problems with wear (even with gloss) & the value is gonna go down. ...BUT if some lil parts of it is paint (like just the eyes, etc). I think your fine, I do that too. :D It shouldn't be a problem.

    Piercing s

Started 3 months ago · Last post about 1 month ago ·
^^NO. piercing guns are NEVER safe. Ive had few of mine done with guns, & wish I hadn't (I've had irritation & even had to take some out from damage).
They are not sterile, or can be sterilized. Which means they have germs, bacteria, & can cause infection. ALL of the earrings they use are not made to pierce thru flesh ...only a needle is. They are rounded on the end & not sharp enough. ...this is why they hurt like hell when done, & take longer to heal. They cause more damage to the skin (they actually rip thru, not pierce), which can cause irritation/sensitivity & even infection ...long after it is healed.
PLUS the people that pierce ears in a store/mall, have virtually no training in piercing or knowledge of the human body. They could puncture a vessel or cause more damage & pain then is needed. The gun also malfunctions A LOT, causing to pierce only halfway thru (& some idiot trying to push the improper jewelry the rest of the way). Or it gets stuck closed, then they have to rip the gun & jewelry back off your ear.... yes, this happened to me. :(

Needless to say, save your time & pain & potential hazard, & just spend a lil more $ for a professional body piercer. They do it quicker, safer, & virtually painlessly. BC they know what they're doing; they trained for a year, & most have even took medical classes. It's worth it.
They cost more, but Like everything else, you get what you pay for.

IM RAVENCLAW TO A T. lol That description sounded like my life story. Haha creepy. I'm intelligent, like to study/research things before speaking. Very loyal & likes to give advice, accepting of all others, extremely open-minded. Plus I'm gothic/punk, which can be seen as different. Im very socially awkward & introverted bc of my syndrome, & looked at as being Shy. WOW.

I took a online quiz once & got Slytherin multiple times tho. That kind of made me happier. Lol but apparently I'm not as bad as I wish to be. Haha

365 Love Reasons - boyfriend gift help!

Started about 1 month ago · Last post about 1 month ago ·
My brother did this for his girlfriend too. He covered & decorated a heart-shaped box (you can get them around valentines day or I think they have them at hobby lobby/craft stores). He put their picture on the inside lid too, & all the lil strips of paper reasons inside. ....you could also do this with a jar.

OR you could buy one of those lil calendars where you tear off a piece everyday. & replace the images/sayings with your pictures & reasons. :D that's a lot of glueing tho. Haha
