    Sister Wives.

No two people have the same relationship styles. Some of these comments are a bit silly. For some people monogamy works, others its polyamory (option of "significant other" partners) and others open relationships (option of sexual partners) . To say its corrupted to be in a polygamist group is really close minded, there are ups and downs to each of these paths.

Me? I used to be a part of all 3 types (ex girlfriend was polyamorus, etc etc) and really the way I am monogamy suits me. In all of those types I kept to one person and didn't have the drive for an open relationship. Some people enjoy having extra relationship connections, others tend to enjoy the whole hook up idea once or twice. I don't chastise my ex because she does something different, I know I just cant do it myself. On the level of actual mormon polygamy I know I couldn't do it. The husband seems to have no regard for anyone else but himself and his wants, and seems to have too much power and say in the house for me to be totally ok with it. That episode where he talks to the kids about bringing in the other wife will be forever burned in my head. It was almost like a joke, since they really just said yes to please dad. In mormon polygamy the man has too much power, and I just could not allow it to be so unequal.

Sorry for the rant, I just see sometimes the little speeches singing praises for polygamy and how some can end up bashing monogamy because "its selfish to keep the love of someone to yourself." You can get angry or argue all you so please, but in the end its kids calling each other names on the playground.

As for the show, its sad to hear they didn't like the girls saying they wanted monogamy. Its one of those normal parent moments though, my mother does not like a lot of my life choices. As long as they do not let this ruin their dreams they'll be fine.

and in all fairness: the father did get in a lot of trouble as well as getting mixed publicity(saw it on a magazine or two). I guess they assumed it was outrageous enough to keep them out of jail.

They always seem like that. I watched one episode and turned it off.

But I guess shows like those are to prove they have the normal family issues and such so theres not always happy moments.

I can agree with that. I only buy on amazon for my craft books, and there is still very little selection in my library. there is a lot I want but not alot i have. Especially my "work up to/eye candy" knit and crochet books

So I was rummaging through my books this weekend and I realized out of the "Stitch n' bitch" knitting and crochet books, I have 2 left to get. I'm also going into T-shirt reconstruction and have "Generation T: Beyond Fashion" and I'm getting their first book this week. I was wondering if anyone else collects their books this way (if it has a series of course) The dress project I am doing I'm not going to do until I get the second one in so I have other ideas on how to make the top. When you have a sert of craft books instead of just one, does it help you any? Especially if it is something relatively new to you but you know you want to get into?

Did your partner keep in communication with you?:We constantly kept in contact1 We still are no doubt!
Were rules of the swap adhered to?: Most definitely! we did a general "get to know me" swap and she chose the hello kitty/kawaii theme for me which turned out very well! She was a fantasic partner and I would not hesitate to pair her with anyone or swap with her again.

    PETA?

Started almost 3 years ago · Last post over 2 years ago ·
I agree with a lot of people, I think they are way too agressive and they are a little too strict for me. I am not a vegetarian, but I do support the maintainence of habitats and regulation of the food industry and the farms that feed that. Plus I did a bit of extra homework and found a lot of their tactics go against their pro-animal guise. My first semester they came to the college and handed out fliers with pictures of dead pigs. A little too extreme for me, and it didn't really move me towards a cause i'm already for, just away from them.

    Crafting at work?

Well, I do a little bit of crocheting between classes. I used to knit and crochet in class, but in order for me to succeed it would have to be a very easy or consistent pattern. I tried a lace pattern in class and i ended up so focused/frustrated on that i had to leave XP

    Knit Flowers?

Started over 2 years ago · Last post 5 months ago ·
I try looking hard for knit ones and end up just crocheting them (one of the patterns i know right off of the top of my head besides granny squares) has anyone else had this same issue? and how have you overcome it/what tricks did you learn to make them?
