    Female rock bands

Libby: I totally agree with you on the new Paramore music. Their old style was so much more unique, and now they're losing their originality. I feel the same way about Evanescence, too. Of course, both bands have a few really good songs on their newer albums, but it's just not the same as their older stuff.

Some of my favorite female-fronted rock bands are Evanescence, Paramore (closer to alternative but still really good), Flyleaf, Fireflight, and Halestorm. All of these bands have great music and amazing female lead singers. Hope I helped!

The movie was actually a fairly good portrayal of the musical. Of course, nothing can beat a live show, but it was still really good.

    Coping with Body Image

Started 3 months ago · Last post 3 months ago ·
Never before in my life have I had confidence issues or major problems with body image. But suddenly I just can't stop thinking about my weight. I know that I am slightly above average weight for my age and size, but in no way am I drastically overweight either. All of a sudden, I can't look in a mirror without thinking about my weight or put on a pair of pants without worrying how I look in them. I feel guilty whenever I indulge on any food that is mildly unhealthy, and I spend such a long time each morning trying to pick an outfit that I feel remotely skinny in. I have no idea when or why this started happening, but I would like to quit the negative body talk altogether. Has anyone else ever struggled with anything similar or have advice/encouragement?

    Gay Marriage

Started 6 months ago · Last post about 1 month ago ·
Love is love, no matter what. We are all human, and it's just so difficult to believe that people could hate a group just because of who they love. I personally think there really should be no debate on the matter. If two people are in love, let them get married.
A big controversy just started here in America over whether gays should be allowed to be Boy Scout leaders. Honestly, it's not like being gay is going to rub off on the scouts! Kids are independent enough to decide who they want to love, and if parents have a problem with that, they can go right on ahead and withdraw their kids from the program.
Plus anti-gay laws are a complete violation of rights, at least in America. As the Declaration of Independence says, "We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal..." This includes people who are homosexual. Just because someone isn't straight doesn't make them any less human. If we're all equal, then why do gays not have nearly as many of the rights that straights have?
My friend is currently writing a research paper on gay rights, and some of the arguments that she found against it were completely absurd. "Marriage rates will drop! If they can't have children, they can't get married! Love will become meaningless!" I have no idea how any person in their right mind can believe any of those lies. How will allowing more people to get married cause marriage rates to drop? So we shouldn't allow the elderly and infertile couples to get married either? And how will letting people love who they want to make love meaningless?
Honestly, there are no legitimate arguments against gay rights. Look at the picture below. Can you tell whether the couple is straight or gay? No! They are two people who love each other, so why should gender matter? We are all human, and that is a fact. Each and every person on this planet has certain rights, and no one should be able to take them away! The fact that some are denied rights just because of sexual orientation is ridiculous!

    More Giveaways for Other Countries?

Started 4 months ago · Last post 3 months ago ·
Vicky Ninja: Yeah, I agree that it probably just has to do with what companies offer prizes and where it's cheap enough to ship those prizes too. I just feel bad for all of the people who can't enter. Oh well, there's not much anyone can do about that.

    More Giveaways for Other Countries?

Started 4 months ago · Last post 3 months ago ·
Does anybody else wish that there were more giveaways open to all countries? It seems like most of the giveaways are only for those living in the United Kingdom, and I just kind of wish other people had a larger opportunity to win something. I especially feel bad for those who live in small countries because they almost never have a chance to enter. Does anyone else feel this way?

    I really need help

Started 5 months ago · Last post 4 months ago ·
Losing a long-time pet is always a difficult thing. But you can't be afraid to cry. If you need alone time, just stay in your room for a while, or you could even cry on the shoulder of a family member. It won't go away with in days. You'll need to be patient and allow yourself to have time to calm down. Once you've gotten over the initial shock of losing him, try to focus harder on the things in life that you love.

    Homemade dust plug..... Good idea?

Started 5 months ago · Last post 4 months ago ·
Sticking anything that's not meant to be put in the plug can damage your device. I would highly recommend following the tutorial that noche-estrellada posted a link to above, as it's a safe and easy way to make one that has no risk of hurting your phone.

    Pictures Posting Sideways

Started 5 months ago · Last post 4 months ago ·
Whichever way your photo is facing when you shoot it, it will face that way when you upload it, even if you rotate it on your computer.
If you're on a Mac computer, hold "command," "shift," and "4" at the same time, and a little target-like mouse will appear. You can drag this from one corner of your rotated image to the opposite (a shaded rectangle will show you what you've highlighted so far), and it will take a snapshot of that picture and send it to your desktop. You can then take the snapshots of all your photos and use them in your projects, as these will not appear sideways. If you're on a PC or don't feel like going through the process of this, just take your pictures without turning your camera when you shoot. Hope this fixed your problem!

    Steam punk help!

Started 6 months ago · Last post 5 months ago ·
Metallic spray paint will be really helpful for decorating props. In terms of colors, neutrals and metallics are pretty common, but there are almost never neon colors. Deep red and navy blue look like fairly common colors too. A lot of steampunk stuff is Victorian-based, so if you choose a wallpaper pick something in an appropriate color that has a Victorian look to it. That would give the mayor's house the rich look it needs. Make the furniture in his home fancy but still semi-old looking. If you need to jazz up any props or furniture, go to a hardware store and look for gears, screws, etc. that you could just add on to anything, or you could just dig through a junk drawer or toolbox and see what kind of stuff you have that might work. You won't want your sets to distract people from the actors, though, so be careful not to go overboard with anything. Hope I could help! If you have any questions, go on ahead and ask me.

    Steam punk help!

I definitely wouldn't go too extreme with giant armor-type stuff or gigantic weapons. Rather than use huge, distracting costume pieces, it would probably be better just to stick to the basic elements. Pick shirts, skirts, pants, and such that are fairly simple, then add to the costumes with accessories like goggles, gloves, cool shoes, belts, bags, guns, jewelry, etc. (There are a bunch of great steampunk tutorials on CO+K.) Don't go overboard with too many accessories, though. Too many could be distracting from the show.
Now, on to sets. Obviously, huge electronics and machines are going to be difficult to move around the state. If you're going to do a backdrop, you could paint it a rich color and paint some gears and stuff on with gold or silver paint. (If you can give me a little bit more information on the play and what the sets are going to be comprised of, I could probably help a little bit more.)

    New bunny help

Started 6 months ago · Last post 6 months ago ·
I had some problems getting my two guinea pigs to settle in. Obviously, don't constantly try to grab him or chase him around. This will just make him more nervous. Instead, offer him some treats, and let him smell your hand so he becomes more used to you. After this, try slowly reaching out and petting him. (My guinea pigs prefer it when I pet them with the back of my hand. I think it makes them less afraid that they're going to be picked up.)
Also make sure that he seems comfortable. Keep him away from loud noises like the TV and music. If you have to pick him up, make sure you're holding him carefully so that he doesn't get hurt.
Obviously, this isn't going to just happen overnight. Some animals have different personalities than others, and maybe Frodo is just a less social rabbit. Just give him a little bit of time and see what happens. My guinea pigs took a whole week to get used to my house before they would let people touch them, and they still don't like being picked up. If Frodo just happens to be a less social rabbit, don't get discouraged. Keep him happy and he'll become more familiar with you eventually. (Sorry if I'm not much of a help. I've never owned a rabbit, only guinea pigs.)

    Play Musical Instruments?

Started almost 4 years ago · Last post 4 months ago ·
I've played violin since early elementary school, and I've been singing for many years. (I am a soprano with an E3 to E6 range.) Although I am thinking about learning how to play the piano or the harp too.
