My mom makes her own deodorant. All she does is mix coconut oil and whatever scented oil she wants to. It seems to work fine, although I'm not one for sniffing my mother's armpits..

How to recycle old pictures?

I just saw a picture on If Style Could Kill of someone who took all of their old photographs and made them into a dress...this reminded me of that, lol.
Hmm...I would suggest burning them, but that would be silly and you probably wouldn't take me seriously.
I don't know what your best bet would be if you didn't take them to a recycling center. If you were really worried, perhaps you could take a marker and black out faces and things before you took them there?
Or is the situation that you simply can't get to a recycling center?

Egg carton mania

Alright, so I have a problem. My mom asked her friends to start saving me their egg cartons, so that I can use them to mix paints in.
This was very sweet.
Unfortunately, Styrofoam egg cartons do not work for paints, because they are not air tight. No matter how tightly I wrap them up, my colors dry out.
My mother keeps asking her friends to bring me more of them, because she's still convinced that they should work.
This has been going on for almost 6 months.
I now have over 200 styrofoam egg cartons of all colors and sizes, and it's to the point where they're filling up my closet, there are stacks of them everywhere, and my mom still brings home a bag full of 5 or so more every single week.
I know that I have to recycle at least some of them, but does anyone have any ideas of craft projects I can do with them?

Ring holder
Fairy light revamp
brooch backing
Organizers
Any ideas? Any at all?

You could try doing crafts that involve altering old t-shirts.
Making some smaller, bleaching (although that probably wouldn't be good if you were sick...), making them into scarves, or even making a quilt out of old ones you might have, if you have any sewing skills!

One place to start is just submitting poetry to magazines, like the nation and the New Yorker, and other mags that print reader poetry. The address to send it to is usually in the index or somewhere.

I got a ton of chain and other jewelry supplies from Big Lots for a really great price! Their stuff changes though, so there's no telling what's in the ones in your area.
Try Goodwill, that's another great place to find it, just by recycling the chains you find there.

That title's about as punny as I can get on short notice. Haha.
Well, here's the thing. I found a box full of short, flatheaded nails in the back of my closet and I have no idea what to do with them. I thought about curling them into ring bases, but, alas, they turn into pinky rings. Too small.
Any ideas of cool things to do with nails or should i just donate them to Goodwill?
