    Vintage Iron Help!

Started 5 months ago · Last post 4 months ago ·
    holy freakin crap!!!!!!!!!!!! you do!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
yeah My husband was like, "my mom had one like it, it goes in the front." haha I was like afraid to pour it in though, I think I put too much water though because when I was using it earlier, the water was leaking out pretty badly through the bottom holes when standing up. Does yours do that? what year is this iron? any ideas? I got it for 5.00 at the thrift store. :)

any help would be greatly appreciated ladies! I do not have a star hex key to open the back, but it is removable. I wouldn't think water would be added there, anyone know why it opens in the back? If you can find this iron online please post the link, as I have been looking and cannot.

    Relatively Inexpensive Apparel Fabric Sites

Started 5 months ago · Last post 5 months ago ·
I really like fabric worm. http://www.fabricworm.com/
it is a small business and I like to support them vs a larger company. They run sales a lot and have harder to find, and unique fabrics.
I was fortunate enough to stumble upon their site when I was searching for some Robert Kaufman monster fabric for my dress. Once you buy from them you receive email deals on sales and like I said, I have enjoyed their prices and selection. I bought kawaii fox flannel scene fabric, skelanimals and etc. very nice.

Need help ASAP with goggle lenses.

Started 8 months ago · Last post 8 months ago ·
    I bought these:
    http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002DLYR8A/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00

to make into steampunk goggles for my plague doctor costume, however....I want the lenses to be red, like these:
    http://www.etsy.com/listing/91854224/darkwear-clothing-gold-mad-scientist?ref=usr_faveitems

what is a cheap way to make the lens red and still be able to see through it, like making it a translucent red?

I really have no idea if you can buy like a red plastic to cut into circles to cover it, or what to do. Paint obviously won't work.

thank you for any help or ideas!

What to do with gift wrap tubes?

Started 9 months ago · Last post 9 months ago ·
Ok, soooooooo here is a cute idea I used to do. You take a 5-6 inch cutting of the tube or a paper towel roll. You fill it with small gifts or candy.
Use some festive paper to go around it, and twist the sides of the paper to be like candy wrappers and tie ribbon to fasten it.
so it is like a tootsie roll looking gift box. :)

    Anyone make custom buttons?

Started over 1 year ago · Last post over 1 year ago ·
like the ones you pin on stuff like backpacks and messenger bags? I am looking to have one made with my doggy on it! I just want one, so I didn't want to buy the stuff to make my own buttons. So if anyone makes them, do you have an etsy? or a way for me to buy one? thanks! oh and maybe a Steve Irwin one too!

    Sewing Machine Help?

Started almost 2 years ago · Last post almost 2 years ago ·
thank you for all of the advice! I actually purchased a Brother LS 2125 for 50 dollars with a big bag of fabric. Now all I need to is figure out how to thread it right and learn a basic straight stitch. :) I figured out how to put thread onto a bobbin. But I can't seem to figure out how to thread the bobbin through to the top after I loaded it into the bobbin holder, and how to thread the spool from the top. I really do like this machine, it's reviews were really great and it seems to be a great deal! we shall see!

    Sewing Machine Help?

Started almost 2 years ago · Last post almost 2 years ago ·
Hi! So I have always wanted to learn how to sew, so I am thinking of taking a sewing for beginners class at a local college and am totally excited about it! So I have begun my search for a good sewing machine for under $100 so what are some good sewing machines? What should I look for in quality and such?
Also, I would need one that would have the ability to hold a needle that can go through a thick patch so that I can sew on my husband's military ranks and name tapes, plus I like to sew on patches. A machine could make this task much easier!

    Thanks!
