Just to report, I'm hosting my first cake and coffee morning on Thursday 3rd Feb, many of my friends are donating cake as well as buying it and every single person who can't make it has placed an order to collect later in the day. I love my friends :) Really looking forward to it and raising some money :D

Portfolio HELP!

Hey guys, I hope someone can help me here.... I'm applying to do a foundation degree in Applied Arts (emcompassing jewellery, ceramics and textiles) and I need to put together a portfolio for my interview (waiting for that date...). I dropped out of A levels and have recently completed a community college course in jewellery making but I have none of the entry qualifications required, which means getting accepted hinges on my experience and display...eek! I'll be going in as a mature student (makes me feel sooo old!) and have no idea what to expect or how to put together a portfolio... PLEASE... can someone advise me? Pictures of portfolio's would be great, all I need is a little guidance and I'll be halfway there.

ETA oh yeah, work examples I haven't gifted: Jewellery, wire wrapping, beaded bookmarks, beadweaving, knitting, cross stitch, tapestry, patchwork, quilting, beanbags, clothing. I also have photography examples (it's a 4th year option).

Anyone else having a little problem staying logged in? I have to type my details in everytime I visit, and cos I'm lazy I don't like doing it,lol. This has only just started happening, wondering where the 'remember me' button is....and if it ever existed???

DH has just (literally) arrived home with my Christmas pressie - a red DS lite! Cool! Now if I can get a game manufacturer to create some crafting games........ I also want beads, crystals, charms and jewellery findings (I'm currently doing a jewellery course) and Geisha ornaments. Oh, lots of lovely Lush stuff would be very welcome too! ^_^

Hope you recover quickly, I'm currently laid up with my 2nd bout of tonsilitis in 3 weeks! but my doctor refuses to refer me to a specialist and private treatment is way out of our reach!

I just added my first project!! It's a skirt for my daughter - I'm sooooo proud of it, I made one last week with a ragged hem cos she was a pirate at school (aren't they all?) but ofrgot to take piccies, so when I realised I needed to make another, I got the camera ready too.

I like all the cupcake fabrics, think they'd look great on a tiered skirt with a complimentary plain/lightly patterned fabric as each alternate tier..... also, I'm daft enough to wear a 'cake' skirt, lmao!!!

Well, i've just been and had a look at all of the sites listed here and I still prefer this one ^_^. It feels friendlier and softer if you get what I mean? I tend to google for ideas/patterns as I need them, but since I stumbled across CO+K a few days ago, I've found lists of projects and hopefully, new friends. Also this is the 1st craft site I've visited more than once a day......

Hi Alex, Remy is a short hair, a black berkshire actually, I have 3 of those and 2 black hoodeds, all short hair. I love the curly haired rex breeds, looks like they have ratty perms! ^_^ Here's some pics...

Cat, rats are the best pets I have ever had (just don't tell the dog!) They come to their names, all have different personalities and love to ride on my shoulders when I walk the dog! Seriously!! :) I have 5 at the moment, but my new cage will hold 12 (when it arrives)...... and I plan to fill it!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D :D :D
