I'm so stupid sometimes, I spent 3 and half hours outside today and wore trainer type shoes but they are shaped like dolly shoes/pumps I wore socks but trainer socks so when I got in I couldn't feel my feet. But because my feet were so cold when I get cold it's like my brain starts to go numb too so I must have seemed so stupid today!

I hope the head of that department will get things sorted for you, you need to pester pester pester with this sort of thing espeically in such a big institution like a uni. I'm annoyed for you! completely agree jess, don't even know who the guy is though!
having free healthcare over here is a big weight off my mind after watching american hospital programmes it made me realise how lucky we are, even if our hospitals are shit and we still have to pay for prescriptions, it is much easier. Dental care isn't free even if it a NHS surgery but you can get if free for being a single parent, on benefits etc. Being part of the EU means we can get treatment in EU countries as soon as we need it (as long as we have a healthcare card, comes out of insurance though so isn't free but you get it when you need it in a foreign country)
I don't like it when people go around labelling things like that, its often quite extreme, it works or it doesn't, you like it or you don't end of.
Morrissey once compared the consumption of meat to the holocaust, I'm a vegetarian but killing cows, sheep, pigs, chickens etc is no where near as bad as killing 6 million jews ffs! It's not even close to being as bad. The whole of Hitlers reign was a disgusting and tragic era in time and farming is not the same as genocide!

the psycho twilight *cough rob pattinson cough* fans really pee me off, leave the poor guy alone, it's not right to go chasing someone around and waiting outside his hotel etc etc, I saw a fan video of him signing autographs and it was...just...i dunno it made me feel sick the way these people are, he's hot ok but control yourselves! I can't explain how weird it is.

I'd live in a city for like a year or two just to get the experience but I'd rather live in the suburbs full time, it's quiet and it doesn't take too long to get into the city and I'm thinking as a dog person, i'd like a garden, and the suburbs are the best places for your kids to grow up, better schools and fresh air.
I suggested that maybe we do that, go and live in London or somewhere for a few years when we come back from Austrailia next year. Got the idea from Cat & Tom! haha the boy liked the idea!

in this country there is a lot of this sort of thing going on in this field of work. I think telling the company is the right thing to do but stress the part of the contract that said no money is to be taken off clients. If you did loose your job, which I don't think you will, but if you told her family they would support you and stick up for you. They can't possibly fire you for it, it cant be legal, but I don't know for sure and wouldn't want you to get fired obviously. Does the company have a website? Look up their values or whatever you can find like that and quote it at them if they are awkward.

but there is a lot of reposting with versions too, however it really encourages people tomake and post a project. When I first came on here I was like 'oooh I'm never gonna be able to post something good' but I did and then when the versions came about it was even easier to get making a posting. If someone posts a version though some of their personality should be put into it to make it theirs. With recipes not everyone can get the same recipes in the same country in books etc etc. so it's about sharing and saying 'hey look what I did!'. And most of the time the cooking is peoples own recipes. That all sounds really corny but we're a happy bunch....(which is very rare for online 'communities')
and also I think Cat is far too nice to not approve stuff for publishing if there's no reason not to such as copyright and she doesn't have time to check every little detail.
p.s. snowcaps I hope it hasnt put you off too much and you stay!

my whole body aches when i move from those dogs pulling and me constantly stopping and starting, trying to make them walk on loose leads/leashes and nearly being dragged off by them a few times! but i do love this walking thing and it only hurts when i get up and move around where as earlier my arms and thighs ached none stop even if i was still!
on the subject I took out dog walkers insurance and it works out at something incredibly cheap 1.25 a week, so £65 for a year. BUT the excess is £250, so if something happens which i hope it doesnt i have to pay the first £250 of whatever costs an accident to dog or third party incurs! lots of insurers do this but it's so unfair!
and also i wrote vaguley about this in random but oh my god the job centre is the most depressing place ever with the stupidest system ever! They made me go home and go back an hour later but I couldn't because I was stuck in traffic for half an hour, so i phoned and rearranged for today and the thing i needed to sort out took 5 mins today. I'm still attached by a chain to that place even when I have a job! (of course i told them about my job). I hate it hate it i want my independence back.

I had all that with guys seemingly interested then not wanting anything serious, then finding a girlfriend not long after...it's not nice, you feel used! But that was the only thing that hurt/upset me, feeling used, I had no serious feelings for these guys since nothing serious happened. There are girls who do this to boys as well of course. Its these people trying a nice way of letting you down gently. I had this guy texting me for aaages after I met him in a club but anytime i tried to arrange anything he was 'busy' so I texted him one day saying 'look, what is the point in this? I just, don't want to know, I'm sorry' or something along those lines, because he wasn't making an effort and didn't say what he wanted and I decided he was a prick. It's a weird thing. When I was 'on the market' I was quite straight forward, after flirtations in school but no boyfriends when I was in college I was like, right I'm not waiting around. It got me what I wanted eventually :)

It's up to the individuals judgement and sometimes I've got it wrong too - I published someone elses magazine published pattern, learnt my lesson, had a feeling I shouldnt have posted it when I did so and when I was typing it up, I did credit the creator and magazine as well but it was breach of copyright really! For one project I couldn't remember where the idea came from so just published it as my own and then edited it when I found out where i'd got the idea...right from here!
This isn't a snobby website but we appreciate credit where its due. This is a craft website, we share patterns and ideas but originality and personality is something i'd expect from creative people. Even if you're new and you don't think your skills are good enough everyone has their own little things they do that make what they do unique. That sounded snobby though! Sorry!

yeh, when i was about 17 a man kept pestering me trying to buy me a drink in a club, i said no and then he appeared again with this beer, i didnt drink it i dont think. He was 30+ and short. A friends brother used to pester any girl he was around at the time, it was annoying he wasn't that much older then us but he was older. There's an elderly man that sits in the bus stop I wait at to go to dog training on saturdays but he only sits there until my bus comes. I'm not sure if he looks at me or not but he makes me feel very uncomfortable and looks in my direction. He also spits on the ground a number of times ick. They don't seem to realise that you aren't a defenceless princess and know exactly what they're up to!
I really wanna take kick boxing classes, just for fun but self defence skills is a plus.

courtney - where i worked it was a really girly shop, and mainly women worked there and ALL they talked about was food because they were dieting. I'd rather you obsess about exercising then obsessing about food in this way, set Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner in your mind and stick to that because this is a normal eating pattern that everyone lives by! FOOD IS GOOOD!

thanks for the advice people, really helped me just relax a bit, irma the heart rhythm thing sounds really interesting.
I know it's anxiety, i meant how do i stop it! lol sorry should have explained that part. I remember going to the doctor once and he said it was anticipatory anxiety and said to wear an elastic band around my wrist and just mess with that when i got anxious, i was gonna do that today but forgot to put it on and then a week later id just be moaning about always messing with the band! I've had these feelings for 6 years now, thank you high school, although now i do think i had a choice and i decided to take the neurotic route, but i can feel myself falling apart this time and this time it's worse because I'm an adult now, it's like i'm on my own and i don't tell people enough about these feelings, they dont take it seriously enough or don't know how to help or don't know how i'm feeling at all. As kiddo said, you don't want to burden people with it.
OCD is tossed around quite casually and everyone has little things they do. I just think you have to be careful or its self fullfiled prophecy thingy. It's very odd, a lot of people go through the same things but none of us know how to deal with it.
Courtney - i went through the exact same thing, your 'friends' don't seem as nasty as mine were though. In the last year of high school a group formed of people id always known and got on with but never hung about with before and it was the best thing that ever happened to me at the time, i think it saved my life (bit melodramatic that, would never do anything like that, i think irrational but i do rational lol). If you're not happy maybe try to hang out with this group more it seems quite fickle but if you're not happy, don't hang about! I know its hard though.
I have found that either other people are the same and just kind of forget about me after a while or it's me thats just weird because i find it so hard to mix, i don't help myself i fade away because i'm sick of trying even when i have quite a lot of confidence (at the moment it's low from being a jobless recluse). At the moment, money is the biggest problem but we just rearranged the morgage so should be ok for a while. We've gone one week with no money for food so all we've had is what's in the house, my mum has gone 1 - 2 weeks with little money before but never no money at all. She's doing everything she can and so am i :( OOO that was ranty!

anyone know anything about nervous twitchs/ticks - i get really paranoid that there's well, boogeys hanging out of my nose so i itch my nose but it's aaaall the time whenever I'm in public and it's really getting to me now. It ruins every sort of social event because all i can think about is my nose and then when i itch it i get really self concious about the fact that im itching it and it might look like im picking it when obviously i'm not! it's not really a twitch or tick but its something compulsive i do that i can't shake off :(
