They definitely should exchange your mp3 player to a new one for you, because if it's brand new then it's clearly not your fault that it's already broken.
And I'll be spending my birthday by myself too this year, my birthday's just over a week after I've moved away to uni, so I'm going to be away from all my family and friends and with new people who don't have a clue that it's my birthday (and even if they knew it's not the same, because it's not like I'll have actually made any friends by that time).
We all have bad weeks from time to time, so keep your chin up and everything will get better

Stupid student finance, they've mucked up my loan application and there's no way I can contact them. They've removed the email link on their website, and I was on hold to their customer support for over 20 minutes before I gave up. If they don't sort it out soon I'm not going to be able to pay for my uni course!!

Nice things about today

I was in the bead shop today and when I went to pay the lady said she really liked my necklace (I'm wearing a bird's nest necklace that I made yesterday) and she asked me if I'd made it. That made me really happy because it's the first time anyone's ever complimented my work outside of an "I made this, do you like it?" context :D.

I feel like I'm living by myself at the moment because my mum's out at work all day every day. Which is okay, but it's annoying that I have no company all day and then in the evening I have to cook and clean up. So I'm doing the work for 2 people but I spend all my time by myself :(

Not sure yet, but we go on a field trip each year I think to study wild animals, and in our final year we get to choose our own research project so we can choose what kind of animal we do our research about :)

Nearly the same as me :). I did English lit & lang though, and I did Maths instead of Music. Chemistry was fun, a LOT of learning (there's about a billion reactions to learn) but I found it really interesting.And I loved Biology :).

I'm going out for a high school reunion of sorts tonight, it was a friend's birthday last week and as she moved to Cornwall when we finished school we've only seen her once in 2 years, and our group from high school hardly ever gets together, so we're all going out for a meal and then to a club afterwards. It's going to be really good to see everyone again, especially as we'll all be moving all over the country in September.

Yay, someone else going to Cornwall :D. What are you going to be studying?
I can't wait to start my course, learning about animals for 3 years is probably going to be so cool, and it cuts out all the boring rubbish I had to learn in Biology at school and college (like stuff about plants, plants are boring and do absolutely nothing, whereas animals are actually interesting).

Is homosexuality a choice?

In my opinion it doesn't matter whether someone's homosexual or heterosexual, everyone should have the same rights and no one should be discriminated against. A homosexual person is another human being, and what does it matter if they love someone of the same gender, so I see no reason for them to have fewer rights than a heterosexual person. I don't understand why religion discriminates against homosexuals, because if God wants us all to love and respect all the other people in the world and if He loves everyone then why doesn't he love gay people? And saying that giving gay people rights opens up the door for child offenders to have rights is absolute crap, child offenders by definition have done something that has harmed another person, and by doing so they've given up certain rights. If someone is homosexual then that doesn't automatically say that they've done anything to hurt anyone else.
And about whether homosexuality is a choice or whether it's genetic... I don't know, but it would be interesting to find out how people's minds work on things like this, and whether things are actual matters of choice, whether they're in our genetic make-up, or whether things that happen throughout our lives affect our lifestyle.

You'd probably be able to find a plain dress pattern that's similar to that, but the hard part would probably be adding the lace and getting it to look good.

I want my book that I ordered from Amazon to arrive! It's about how to make soldered jewellery, which I've been wanting to do for a while. It got dispatched today, but it won't come tomorrow because it's Sunday meaning there's no post, so hopefully it'll arrive on Monday :)
