Tasha, I totally agree. I tend to think that a stretched lobe takes more consideration, commitment and care than 'just' a piercing. Getting a piercing is quick and some people make their decision about it in a split second (*harrumphs* my nose piercing was one of those decisions ^^) but since stretching is a slow process, we care more. Thus we have less issues with those. Does that make sense to anyone? :P
I've gone through... 4 piercers in my time, some were good, some weren't, but I'd NEVER go to a doctor to get a piercing.
I started stretching my left lobe to 8mm when I was.... uhm..... 19 I guess and I took it very, very slow, leaving almost a month in between every step. The right one was a bit quicker but it's also healed just fine.
And by the way, my kids (I'm a 5th grade teacher) LOVE them and keep asking me about them. Gotta adore kids for not being as judgemental as the rest of the world *sigh*

Good heavens. DizzyDisaster, please go and tell your uhm... 'profesinals' the following:
a)plugs may 'stink' when they are not cleaned daily, which is a given for any person with common sense. Likewise does any other piercing, especially if the jewellery is made of steel.
b) there is NO reason why a stretched lobe - when done correctly - should cause a higher risk of infection than a perfectly normal earring. If I'm mistaken, I'd be really, r-e-a-l-l-y curious about the reasons.
c) a healed stretching could only get infected when the new skin is broken for some reason - something that could just as easily happen with normal earrings too.
d) I'm part of the bodymodification scene and have NEVER heard of ANYONE who died from a "plug infection". It's the most riddiculous thing I've heard all week.
e) in case you didn't make your research up to 'prove' your point, please also tell your professionals that they're full of crap and that they should prettyplease get their knowledge straight. Because I do in fact obviously know better than the people you talked to.
I've stretched my lobes on my own. They healed perfectly. I clean them every day. So do the about 70% of my friends who also have stretched lobes.
Mi.eze out, I think I've made my point.

I don't know how to break up with my boyfriend...
Started about 1 year ago · Last post about 1 year ago ·
I was thinking about telling you to just talk to him about your doubts, like say "get a job or I'm out of here" but then I read the last part of your little explanation...
First of all, are you sure your lack of attraction is not 'just' a result of your frustration with him? If so, try and tell him that! He might actually understand. If NOT, that's a whole different thing and nothing I'd know how to deal with either. :/ But honestly, I don't think strangers can give you advice on this, it's nothing with a fixed diagnose and medication, you know?

Wow, DizzyDisaster, get your facts straight, NOTHING of what you said is true. You can even wear 'normal' ear jewellery with stretched lobes if you know how to do it.
I'm done stretching, 8mm each side, and I have no regrets. When people ask me if I'm "also wearing these cool fake tapers", I get annoyed and take my jewellery out & poke my finger through it. It shuts them up pretty nicely. :)

Facebook?

@Creative, I was talking about the "I like" facebook option one can click under our projects on here.....
@Kasia, don't you worry for not seeing that, I didn't see a reason last time I posted here, too, but got a handfull of off-topic aggressiveness anyway. xD

I just now realised that one can Facebook-"like" projects on here...
Uhm, question is, will they show up on peoples FB pages? ( Because honestly I wouldn't 'like' that too much. :/ Recently I'm trying to get my things away from being spread wildly around the interwebs and it's hard enough as it is... )
And just out of sheer curiosity, how can I see who 'likes' my stuff?
( Oh, I am -so- sure -someone- will -somehow- feel offended by this... -___- )

Crafterella, thank you for noticing and understanding my actual point. :) Keep on rocking, you guys do an awesome job.
I'm not gonna comment or even justify myself on the off-topic discussion because it's hillarious ( where the heck did I insult ANYONE? )... and off topic.
For all I know, my actual 'problem' got solved and therefore I think this thread can rest in peace now. Take a deep breath and enjoy life.

I'm sorry, I already posted this once when it was a minor annoyance, but lately it's becoming worse.........
I know one can choose weather to recieve a e-mail notice about new comments and versions or not. Thing is, that also includes notices about new favorites.
For some reason, I'm getting a LOT of favorites in the last weeks ( which is nice, but somehow weird because when I say a LOT, I mean it...... ), and my inbox gets crowded, not allowing any important messages in...
I'd still like to get a notice for new comments though...
So the question is, again, could you please include an option to let us choose weather to recieve favorite-notices or not? I personally do not need them for my ego. :P
( Huh, I know keeping up with a website is hard work and I don't wanna sound rude by 'requesting' changes, please be sure of that... )

Just recently I visited a christmas market where a woman sold the most amazing bead jewellery.
She had these thingies that contained of a bracelet and a triangular 'web' that ended in a noose for the middle finger ( see picture ). They were extremely expensive and so I wanted to try to make them myself. I already did these web things, but I don't know how to get the triangular shape......
( just to make it clear, I asked for her allowance to take the photo! )
Maybe someone knows how this works or knows a tutorial? Google didn't help me...
( sorry for my super wonky language, somehow I can't get a straight sentence down... )

No way. How creepy is that? You're sure it is real?
As you said, it sounds like some sort of lame move to force you into coming back.
If you're over him, and mean enough, try ( and I say TRY because I know it would take ME a lot of time ) so see the funny side of it:
- every next girl will pretty sure be pissed.
- if you don't come back to him, just think of how pissed he's gonna be after a while!
NAMES on men only work if they're his kids names. ( Drop dead sexy if you ask me! )

No pressure from enyone, I guess. The concept of the page alone is awesome and I'm pretty sure I would be here even if it looked like these ancient bluescreen pages our dads used to work on. x)

Commenting... again...
Started over 2 years ago · Last post over 2 years ago ·
So... maybe this has been said here for 300 times before, but honestly, I'm not gonna search for it and anyways I'm just sorta stating my recent wishes. ^^
Three things,
1) The Comment section under every profile or project or board post would be much more organised if you could reply to a comment directly, like in youtube for example. It's a bit frustrating if I post a question about a project and have to digg it up from the list every time and then browse through every answer the person made on her own project to find "mine". Plus, it would make discussions easier.
2) If that first thing went through, maybe it would be nice to have some sort of action box on your profile that shows who has posted a reply, either on your projects or on a comment you posted. I keep searching the projects I commented because I'm curious if someone reacted, and I want to keep in touch with some discussions, but it's extremely time consuming to search all the time.
( I know there is a general action box on the projects page, but honestly I never look at it because it's completely random to me. It's the same with the "feed" thingy on the profiles. This page is totally useless to me. :/ )
3) I would -love- to be able to DISable the fact that I get e-mails for every single favorite. Mails about comments and versions are super, but honestly, the favorite-mails are just spamming my account and my other mails don't get through if I'm not clearing my mail every two days ( which I don't do. ) In the account settings, I checked the "Email me... When there are new comments and versions of my projects" box. Aaaand that's sorta what I'd like to get. ^^
Oh, and a fourth thing, I'd love to be able to delete and edit my comments and delete comments that were made on my projects ( e.g. double posts or just those that... need to be deleted... *harrumphs* )

Dunno if this has already been mentioned, too tired to read everything now, but what dirves me mad is that you literally CAN'T klick "next" in the project menu or sometimes even the post-button, because instead of what I was hoping to happen, this frissin Sebastian add pops up. Curious how many times I need to post this thread today...

My boyfriend's mom is driving me bonkers!!!
Started over 2 years ago · Last post over 2 years ago ·
Phew, that sounds... annoying. Funny thing is, my mom had a lot of these problems with my dad's mom, too. ( Just that this woman also tried to give advice about the bedroom *caugh caugh caugh* )
Mess problem: My mom does that ranting thing too since my brother and me moved out. It's a mom-thing I guess. And yes, it can be totally frustrating, especially if you're a non-messy person. Try to ignore it.
About leaving stuff in the sink, well, I would probably get angry about that. Let HER do the dishes from time to time. If she doesn't even consider doing it, that's pretty b*tchy... You're not her chambermaid.
I guess it is HER house? Well, that makes esp. the shampoo thing a bit problematic. You can't - and shouldn't - tell her to leave your stuff alone.
I would do the following: Buy some random shampoo and leave it in the bathroom and take your beloved stuff away. And don't let her see it. Seriously. I would go MAD. ^^
If you manage to get a shampoo she likes, you might even smoothen the waves a bit. ;)
About the cat and dog food, THIS is something you should tell her. Just make it obvious that pets need healthy food. And do it with a concerned look, so no "What the heck are you doing" but rather "I'm worried about the cat".
The cooking thing... I personally would see this as a rejection gesture, but of course you can't be sure about that. But be advised, a stepmom that is -always- and -completely- enthusiastic about the french fries you threw in the oven isn't so cool either. Makes me feel... weird... ^^
Be strong dear, and try to stay on her good side.
There ARE much worse women out there.
( Just as a sidenote, my cousins stepmom had a key to their house and would come over whenever she wanted. She even walked in on my cousin taking a shower and just stayed in the bathroom, bragging about how the poor girl had to raise her son. Yay... )

Watch out for pervs!!!
Started over 2 years ago · Last post over 2 years ago ·
Lol!
But why, h why didn't you give him a kick in the nuts? I would have as soon as he hugged me... SUPER GROSS!!!!!!
Deviantart never gets old when it comes to pervs. I'm a stock provider there, and yesterday have been approached by some guy who has some sort of REALLY strange fetish about monsters grabbing girls ankles? And he asked me if I would be ok with him doing a photomanipulation of this kind with my stock. Well HELL NO! Despite the obvious disgust-factor of serving as a fetish, the quality of his 'art' is -absolutely- hillarious... ( Some people really should not be allowed to use photoshop... )
And just because it crossed my mind this morning, I have another lol-some story about guys and their attempts to win girls over... About 2 years ago, I went clubbing with my friends as we always do... I was a redhead back then. Note this. Some guy tried to compliment me into having a drink with him. I can only assume what went on in his mind: "Oh look, she's some sort of goth girl. I TOTALLY know how to get these!" and what he said was.... ... "Hey, you look like that singer from Evanescence!" ( Note also: I just don't. Like, at all! ) I mean, hello? This MIGHT have worked on a black-haired, insecure 15-year-old, but on a grown woman? C'mmon!
How about we just share moments like that?
What was -your- most stupid pick-up line so far? ( Well, the one that was used on you, of course... )

New Hair - how bad is it???
Started over 2 years ago · Last post over 2 years ago ·
Sometimes I feel so stupid... As I said, I wanted to surprise my man with this...
We're both members of a model and photographers community, and I updated my colour changes on my port there. I was -so- sure that he would never log in there in the next two weeks because he seldomly does anyway and he's got stuff to do before leaving.
But yesterday as we talked on the phone, he said he recieved an e-mail, telling him someone had send him a message there and before I knew it, he had logged in ( and of course also checked by my profile ) and he was like... why does it say your hair is red??? >______<
Had to tell him, he insisted on seeing pictures... and he actually likes it. ^^ Yay!

Thank you all for the feedback, I think I'm slowly getting used to it. Just a few hours ago I got lectured by my mom about bleaching, but, yeah, we all do stupid things from time to time. ^^
And if I don't want to get my roots fixed again and again, I'll just go back to black or a dark brown, keeping the lower layers black. That might look neat, too.

Which literary figure do you wish you had the chance to meet?
Started over 3 years ago · Last post almost 2 years ago ·
I would LOVE to meet Gandalf. xD He's badass! And to stay at Lord of the Rings, meeting an Ent might make my whole life a bit more... calm... ^^
Plus I'd love to meet some charakters from one of my childs books, esp. Juniper, who is some sort of witch, but totally into nature and harmonic to the point of being annoying, so having a lemonade with her would be veeery interesting.

Soooo my Boyfriend likes me as a readhead. I haven't been one in ages. He's coming home from his military duty soon ( like, coming home for real, ending his work there, ohmygoshI'msohappyyyyyy!!! ), and I wanted to surprise him...
Since my bangs were still blonde from all my Direction madness, I thought we had to make some part of my hair black, including the bangs. Not the MOST stupid idea, untill I learned that my hairdresser wanted to bleach the upper rest of my hair too so I could as well have had red bangs... xD
Uhm... weeeell, long story short, here I come, and very unlike me, I'm EXTREMELY insecure about how it looks. Esp. since I'm afraid my BF doesn't like it. ^^
Don't get me wrong, the colour is mindblowing and I love it, but the bangs, THE BANGS......
( Edit: Plus, in a moment of weakness, my brother told me he didn't like it, and though normally I don't care since we prefer completely different styles, it did hit me... )
( Excuse stupid censorship, I was REALLY insecure that day. ^^ )
Tell me what you think, please, and no, you don't need to worry about my self-confidence, normally it's pretty ok. ^^ So no peptalk, just opinions please.
Ktnxbye! :P

Dear my Generation:
Started over 2 years ago · Last post over 2 years ago ·
About the dresscode thing, we have a girl in town that goes to ( or at least DID go... ) the only really catholic school we have. I just recently heard that she went to school in a mini skirt, blouse and latex corset and SUSPENDERS! At the age of 16, TO SCHOOL!!! I know at that age they try to find tehmselves, and even if I as a mother would not agree, waring this outfit while clubbing -might- be understandable... But to school? ( Our schools in germany aren't as strict as some american schools seem to be, but if I was headquarter, I would have given her an hour to drive home, dress properly and come back...... )
And about parenting... Don't get me started on that one, I used to work at a kindergarden for a while.........
Just one incident, we had a mother of two, both girls really not the smartest ( I assume instead of usefull toys, they were placed in front of the TV after kindergarden... ).
The mother......... I could have slapped her OVER and OVER and OVER!
Once we played a game where her older girl had to pretend she was sea sick. She didn't know what it was so we explained that she could just play dizzy. Her mother was already there to pick her up and watched. Due to further frustration of not knowing the word, the little girl had sort of shut down and just sat there, staring at us. Then this unbelieveable woman laughed and told her daughter to play DRUNK. Me, as naive as I can be sometimes, was joking about the fact that she should not know what THAT looks like and the mom just laughed even harder and told me and my colleague that she must have seen it so many times before with her mom!!!!!!!! CAN YOU FRIGGIN BELIEVE THAT? The girl was 4 years old!!! My colleague and I were like..... O_________________O
Any more questions why kids are the way they are these days?
By the way, same mom, was pregnant with a third child, about 7 months into it. She came into the building, STILL HOLDING HER FUCKING CIGARETTE BUTT while pulling jacket zippers and so on, and I was like, wtf... Asked her why the hell she was still smoking and I got a shoulder shrug and a half mumbled excuse about addiction... Yaaaay...

Dear my Generation:

First of all, yay you! I'm happy for every single young lady who SEES what is wrong with her generation. I know it sounds as if I'm 80, but todays teenagers are hell.
I just recently got the creeps when I saw two -really- young girls ( about MAYBE 9 years old ) in a store, in front of the MAKE UP, discussing wildly about what's in and what's out. It made me half angry, half sad. It's the same girls that will start to dress like hookers at the age of 12 and start having "Boyfriends" and harassing classmates that don't "date" yet... At an age where I thought boys were just SO stupid!
You know what, I blame the TV!
Just as I blame it for bullimia, drunk teens and the overall growing stupidity of mankind.
( and I blame overly sensitive, "you're the fifth winner", anti-authoritarian education! )

Bad news, ladies, the prick re-joined ( and tried to give me a lesson about feet worshipping *throws up* ). I just reported him AGAIN. By the way, it's time to give you the name in case he comes back, it's "Master M."...
I'm especially worried about all the minors here, there has to be a way to protect them from... evil... *swings laser sword* o.O Well, ok, that came out wrong.
Maybe Crafterella could post an official blog about keeping this community clean? This topic is pretty near to my heart, so I'd absolutely appreciate it!
