boy troubles....
Started almost 2 years ago · Last post almost 2 years ago ·
He's all ready talking to you so clearly if you talk to him he'll talk back, so no worries there. That said, I wouldn't go up to to him when he's with his group of friends until you get to know him better. Peer pressure with the group may cause him to not be as polite as if you were in class.

Please help with ideas for spending quality time with my teenagers
Started almost 2 years ago · Last post almost 2 years ago ·
hiking, bike ride, picnics, fruit/veg picking, crafts from dollar stores (little dorky ones), a long term summer treasure hunt (finished as a collage or mobile maybe) of ____ (sticks, shells, red things), tour your town like you've never been there, canning/pickling, take a fave movie/game and figure out how you can act it out (alice exploring wonderland? hunting for aliens?)
if nothing else, play the games with them. i have fond memories of playing games w/ my whole family
I realize some of these sound a bit young but they're what i do with the 12-year-old i know and things i tried to get my mom to do with me when i was a teen.

This is just *so* unfair.
Started almost 2 years ago · Last post almost 2 years ago ·
That sounds kinda illegal, at least in Canada. Do you know your rights regarding overpay and skipped pay? I would suggest contacting/locating a (likely) government agency to make sure they can do that.
It's good that you love you job but you still need to survive. Is there similar jobs that you might be able to do else where?

I saw an awesome photo on pintrest.com that said on a chalkboard (i'm paraphrasing) "blame straight people for the gays, they keep having gay children".

Matching socks??? yes or no?
Started almost 2 years ago · Last post almost 2 years ago ·
i try to never wear matching socks. they all get bundled into my drawer and i sort through which ones i might wear. mom my used to love that she didn't have to fold them (or she'd mismatch them and fold them) when i lived at home and now she buys me a bundle of socks for easter each year.
i've been introduced as Lacey, Who Never Matches Her Socks at work. I've also been scolded on days they matched (it was laundry day but still, the shame).

Hedgehog?
Started almost 2 years ago · Last post almost 2 years ago ·
I haven't owned a hedgehog but i can offer some general advice.
-for handling, the more you do it the more he'll get used to it. which means he'll stop being scared when it happens. if he tries to fight you to get put down DON'T until he's calm. (otherwise he'll learn fighting means down)
-i don't think they smell (cousins had one). besides, people always said rabbits smell but if you clean the cage regularly and using baking soda and wash the cage it doesn't smell. i never had a problem with my rabbit cage.

Holidays!!!! Bahhh.....
Started almost 2 years ago · Last post almost 2 years ago ·
I've never had any big problems traveling but I sure remember going my trip around Europe.
I landed in London and made it to Wales to family with no problems however the day before I was to return to London was when there was the bombs. Very scary as it was my 2nd time on trains (first time being when I arrived) and my 1st time on a subway. I had to ask a police to let me through police tape as the bus bomb was near my hotel.
When in Rome I got lost from my travel group at night near the T-something (the name escapes me) Fountain but thankfully found 2 other girls that were also lost from our group. We found a taxi but the driver was confused/lost about where our campground was.
Man, after that, not a lot really scares me at home or traveling.

Think about the usual table sizes of where you would and how you would best display your pieces. Remember, people want to be able to reach out and touch things rather than see them behind glass.

Just thought i'd mention The Freshmen Five. the five extra pounds that most freshmen gain when they start to live on pizza/etc while attempting to balance life, school and work.
make small changes you can stick to. there's a free diet app for ipods (and online) that i loved and lost 10 pounds on but i can't remember the name for the life of me. it did all the calorie counting and everything

Okanagan Lake, BC, Canada has a monster named Ogopogo like Nessie. I'm on my 2nd stuffy of him (stupid dog ate the 1st one) and I can't wait to visit it for myself but you won't be able to make me go in the water!
... I also see sharks when I'm alone in the pool and clearly shark-free lake near where I live. I have an overactive imagination...

Don't blame the dogs if your 4 year old is a pansy!
Started about 2 years ago · Last post about 2 years ago ·
@ Kitty, what steps have you taken to learn about dogs and how to stop their behaviour? Have you taught your children how to deal with animals that could be playful or attacking? It's fun to complain without doing anything about the problem.
Also, as to children being more important than dogs, isn't that up to everyone to decide for themselves? I've never thought of love being wrong. Some people that have children go to extremes, positive and negative, and some some people with animals do the same. Which side do you lean to?
Can you say that your children are perfectly behaved at all times no matter what? I can't say that about any children I know. Neither can I say that about a dog. Sometimes, I just don't understand parents...

How could she know what would happen? If she's expected to put the dogs away when the sister visits with kids is the sister expected to put the kids away if she were visited by dogs?

Relationships & Age Gaps :/
Started about 2 years ago · Last post about 2 years ago ·
My two cents: I'm 25 and I dress in bright colours and am well known for it. I joke that I dress like a 5-year-old picked out my clothes. When I dress in calmer colours people ask if I'm ok and why I'm dressed funny.
To me, my clothes are part of who I am and who I want to be. I don't wear low cut shirts or mini skirts but you can't please all the people all the time. My boss once told me she didn't like my mix matched socks and thought I shouldn't wear them. I told her I'd quit before I changed them. She's never said anything about them again and my coworkers play "spot the difference" and scold me when they match.
I wouldn't date or be friends with someone who insulted or told me to dress differently because of how they feel when they're with me.

guy troubel
Started about 2 years ago · Last post about 2 years ago ·
I think the best ways to view relationships is a Bonus attitude. You have your life, your friends, crafts and whatever else you love. If a guy happens to talk to you or ask you out it's a bonus but not what your entire life is dependent on.
also, my friend has read a few books and told me some advice that she's tried and works: never text/email/etc quickly, wait at least 20min; try not to be the 1st to suggest something, let them feel like "the boss".
