So I went to Dairy Queen yesterday to order my birthday cake (because ice cream cake is my favorite!) but I wasnt sure what picture to get on it, so I got a pic of a sugar skull that I liked and I brought it in with me and the cake decorater said she could do it! I was so excited, usually you have to pick a design out of the book they have but she's going to draw a sugar skull for me.
So now I want to know what designs/pictures/shapes have you guys had for your birthday cakes?

My baby book is empty!!!

Thanks guys for reassuring me that my parents do love me and for showing me how normal it is. I was always sure they did it just sucked to look at a blank babybook last night. I haven't made a fuss about it to my mom or anything because I understand that when I was born my brother was 5 and she now had 2 kids to take care of.
But on the plus side this morning I looked an found an old peice of paper torn from a notebook that has my progress written on it. Stuff like "sat up by herself - June 10th" so that was nice to find and I also discovered that my first word was "mama".
This isnt a rant I just thought it was silly and wanted to share. There was a paper that the hostipal filled out at my birth. It's yellow and it has teddy bears on it and it has all my info. I noticed that what ever nurse filled it out did it wrong. She put my parents name on the first line of the paper because under it there are the words "was born to" but she didn't understand that those words are supposed to be read...so if you read the certificate it says "Guy & Fay was born to... and weighs 7 pounds... and measures 19 inches..." I thought it was funny but maybe that's only because I'm tired.
Now on another seperate note, I'm sorry to hear about some of your crappy times in childhood Violetta & Dessah. I guess we all have some - which sucks! And Violetta I totally agree with you about the number of children you're going to have. I already told my mom that I dont ever see myself having ANY unless I have a huge life changing moment but if I do it's only going to be one. Some people say it's nice to have siblings with you while growing up but I like the idea of an only child. This way there is no putting one over the other or like in my best friend's family they had 2 girls so it's always "oh look how much prettier one is compared to the other". Which is very sad because it can put a wedge in between the two kids and they grow up resenting each other.

My baby book is empty!!!

Okay so I know this may sound whiny of me but I was very sad to find that my baby book is practically empty! My information was filled in at birth but my parents did not include the bracelet I wore, a peice of my hair, my sonogram, or anything else!! There are no pictures in it and more than half the lines are empty. Things like "baby first smiled on _______" are not filled in.
To make matters worse, my older brother's baby book is practically bursting at the seams! He has EVERYTHING in ther including added papers because they ran out of room. He also has 3 more HUGE albums full of pictures from his first car ride home from the hospital all the way until he was 4. There's even newspaper clippings of "Dear Santa" notes!
I had a hard time finding my baby pictures and when I did I found them all out of order and in the envelopes they come in after getting them developed. They're not all nice and organized in albums. Also it seems that every picture of me is dominated by my brother!
I realise that by coming from a family of only 2 children and being the last that my parents were a little more baby crazy with their first and had less time to fool around with albums for be seeing as they would have a newborn and a 5 year old but it hurts to see my brother's entire life chronicled and protected mine just kind of cast aside in random envelopes. After looking through every album we own I was not able to find anything of mine between the ages of 1 to 4. There are pics of me as a newborn (not in albums) and then all of a sudden it's christmas of '94.
I know that my parents love me but I wish they would have put as much effort into my baby book and albums as they did with their first child.
Sorry this was so long I'm just really bothered by it right now. I was feeling nostalgic because I'm going to be turning 20 on the 11th and I feel like it's a milestone birthday! I'm no longer going to be a teenager.

Aw that sucks! Maybe the people walking around couldnt really get a good look at your crafts. Maybe next time you should try to make displays that are visually actractive. Set your stuff up in a way that looks really cool and you'll have people flocking to your table even if they didnt want.... knitted hats.. idk lol.
Or maybe it was just a bad day. Maybe next time will be better!

hahaha I feel your pain! I'm only 5 feet tall I got glasses in grade 8 (just before going into highschool) then in the last week of august I broke a bone in my foot and got a cast which came with crutches THEN 2 weeks into highschool I got braces too! I looked like a complete geek. But now I have nice teeth so it's all worth it in the end.
Dont eat anything hard, use the wax they will give you for your braces and in a week you'll be as good as new!

These 2 are from the same source. I thought the corn was super cute! They are made to look like corn by using yellow and white jelly beans.
This next one was apparently made for a "Glee" themed party.
These are wolves I found on a site... They probably have something to do with that wolf-guy in the twilight movies.
This last one I thought was really cool! It's a TV dinner! It has 3 peices of chicken, peas&carrots, mash&gravy, and the little chocolate desert that's always included!
This one is just a cute idea!

I agree with all the above posts! I would kick that douche to the curb. The phone thing would bother me- a lot- not because i want to snoop but because he acts so defensive about it. The inviting girls over to drink and have a slumber party part would really push me over the edge. That is not something people in a loving relationship do!
Even if the girl is "just a friend" and they have never had sex it's still the fact that his actions are having such a negative impact on you. If I did something completely innocent but it made my boyfriend extremely uncomfortable I would stop doing it because I love him and respect him and I dont want to hurt him. But this A-hole doesnt seem to care at all.
I agree with Laurel, you're going to do what you want to do, but my advice is to just let him go! You are better off without him!

It wont heal right if you scratch it when its healing. You can leave it spotted and cracked looking. Some people may have to get it touched up, some people dont. It all depends on how well you take care of it.

Halloween sucked!

I agree that Halloween is not as fun as it used to be. I haven't been trick-or-treating in years but I always would hand out. This year there were like 20 kids.
Earlier in the day my mom and I went for a walk around our neighbourhood around 5 so it wasnt dark but it was getting there and in the four blocks we walked I only counted about 8 houses that were decorated. I remember going as a kid to every house. There would be only 1 or 2 that weren't giving out. I find all holidays (i consider halloween one) are getting less "special" and "magical" every year.
I still dressed up tho. I made a quick costume and wore it to a friend's house. We got people together and watched scary movies but it's just not the same. Every holiday is a let down now.

I'm going as a Killjoy! It's a concept that comes from the new CD by the band My Chemical Romance. Basically, a Killjoy is a vigilante fighting forces of evil for the greater good! :D I'm wearing a mask (that I painted myself) and I'm carrying a "ray gun". I also fashioned a fake paper cigarette (because they all lean up against their muscle cars smoking hahaha)

I got a happygram today!! It's from Dessah and it was very cute :) The note made me laugh.
Please excuse the little mess in the background of the pic, the tissue back there is because I just got over a cold. This happygram came at a good time for me. I found it when I came back from waiting 3 hours at a clinic to see a doctor for 5 mins.
So I got a cute chocolate chip cookie hairclip, a couple of stickers and a pretty card!
