    Medication rant

Started 5 days ago · Last post 4 days ago ·
I'd have been livid too. That person was treating your health and well being as if it was unimportant. I would contact whomever heads up the pharmacy and tell then your disappointment in their staff's lack of care. I'm willing to bet there is a manager for the pharmacy who isnt one of the general pharmists. I'd also probably consider switching pharmicies to one that will make you feel more comfortable.

A rant and plea for relationship advice >.<

Started 12 days ago · Last post 6 days ago ·
I think you already know that the relationship is over and you're looking for confirmation before you go ahead with the big step. The thing is- young love doesn't most of the time last (I say that as a generosity). You're a young woman, who is spending your time waiting around for a boy who hasn't made the time to remember you. That doesn't sound like a happy or healthy relationship to me. That sounds like a young girl who is being strung along while the guy she is seeing is out there living his life without consideration to her.

But I will say this to be fair, I don't know you or your boyfriend, and I am only hearing one side and at one point in time of your relationship so I can't tell you what to do or judge it. Only you can do that. Asking your friends and family for advice will only get you one sided answers. But it's good to talk about it with your family and friends if you are uncertain. Talking it out often will lead you to the answer you're looking for.

    Good luck.

Any suggestions about hair cuts?? >.<

Started 24 days ago · Last post 21 days ago ·
Although, I suggest doing what I did for my prom and chopping it all off- it was a huge shock for everyone and it was the best hair cut of my high school career- by graduation at least 10 other girls I knew chopped their long hair short too.

Going to visit family - need advice and to rant

Started 24 days ago · Last post about 16 hours ago ·
Well, I think you're only option will be to rent a car when you land and rent it out for a week. I know it's an extra expense but there doesn't appear to be any other alternative. But I think it's lame that your friends aren't willing to come see you and expect you to drive to see them when you've already traveled 1100 miles to see them. I also am surprised that your mom isn't willing to let you borrow her car. If you offer to fill it up after each use, she shouldn't have a problem with you using it. That's really just lame of her, it's kind of like she's trying to make your stay there as unwelcoming as possible. I say, bite the bullet, rent a car for a week and do all the visiting you want.

    need books!

Started 30 days ago · Last post 22 days ago ·
Try reading books by Elizabeth George Speare and Ann Rinaldi. Both are great writers for girls in your age group. I'm 27 and still enjoy reading those writers. Also Louisa May Alcott has some great books I loved when I was your age. 8 Cousins and the sequal A Rose in Bloom being my favorites and the Anne of Green Gables stories by L.M. Montgomry are also great for girls, My sister is your age and she just finished reading The Little White Horse by Elizabeth Goudge. You might also like the Shoe series by Noel Streatfeild.

    Vinegar bath for fabric

It makes sense in the fact that when dying fabric you use vinegar or salt to help the color stay. Also you use vinegar to soften fabric.

One of my prizes took a couple weeks to arrive. I couldn't complain, they were after all giving me something at their own personal expense- and everyone gets busy.

how do you get a book published

Started about 1 month ago · Last post 25 days ago ·
If you're wanting to publish it professionally- well that takes a lot of time- first you have to finish writing it- then you have to revise and edit it and have it in a polished format- then you have to send out query letters. Most publishers won't publish a book without an agent so you send our query letters out to agents first and usually slip in the first 10 pages or chapter of your book. Most agents only take on around 10 clients a year so expect rejection and have lots of copies. Once you get an agent you will probably go through your book again with your agent and edit and revise it again. Then your agent will begin to look for a publisher for you. If you don't use an agent then your work is really cut out for you because you have to research different publishers and find which ones publish different types of books and if they only accept writers with agents or writers without. You'll want to then research how they want to be presented with your work. Because single space 12 font won't work for most publishing companies. It's a really long process- the best thing to do is to get into the writing community in your area. Join a workshop- let them see what you're writing, and then start making connections. You can talk to local published writers and get advice on how to become published or where to go to get published. It takes time and most writers are sending out their manuscript for years before they get a yes.

If you go the self-publishing route you're going to have to pay out of pocket to have your book published, and then you have to advertise it if you want it to sell- so you have to learn to sell yourself like you're a product. You'll do that anyway when you get published- but publishing agencies are great at setting up their writers for public readings at libraries, coffee shops and book stores as well as getting them booths at book fairs and writers conventions. If you self publish that's all something you have to do yourself.

But the first step is to finish your book and then go back with a critical eye and revise and edit it. Worrying about things like the cover or publishing until then is moot.

BFF having surgery.. need get well/cheer up gift ideas!

Started 2 months ago · Last post about 1 month ago ·
I made an eye mask filled with rice for when I was in the hospital after having my baby. I also filled it with dried rosemary, but you could do lavendar or essential oils to give it a scent.

Also, going to put out there that the best gift I got when I was in the hospital was a bunch of breath mints. When you're unable to or have a difficult time moving- brushing your teeth doesn't happen, so it's nice to have some breath mints in easy reach- maybe make a little box or jar containing some mints- I bet she'd really appreciate it.

Had to shave all my hair off :(

Started about 1 month ago · Last post 22 days ago ·
My hair is currently short, and orange- because I'm in the process of going blonde. So I've been wearing my hair up in a turban- something I've been doing for the past 10 years. I made a video on how to do it a couple years ago- but going back and watching it- it took forever to get to the part where I actually show how to do it- I apparently had a lot to say. I also used a silk scarf in the video and I prefer a cotton scarf because it holds better without using safety pins or anything.

Anyhow, if you're interested it's here- http://la-bouilloire-noire.blogspot.com/2010/11/turban-how-to.html Just fastforward to 3:15 and you'll skip all the jabber.

What to make from tie scraps?

Started 2 months ago · Last post 2 days ago ·
I used silk ties last year to dye my easter eggs. They turned out super pretty and I loved them. I've also seen someone take a tie and make a cute stuffed snake, a sunglass case and a wallet. I've also used ties to make scarves and necklaces.

    Whiter teeth?

Started 2 months ago · Last post about 1 month ago ·
Strawberries and banana peels are supposed to whiten your teeth. Also a mixture of peroxide and baking soda used once a week like toothpaste will help to whiten them. I don't do any of the above but I do drink water thoughout the day and I've been told I have very white teeth despite my soda addiction.

    Lint all over my t-shirt

Started 2 months ago · Last post 22 days ago ·
I have a t-shirt that I'd like to reconstruct, but the problem is no matter what I do,it collects every speck of lint and hair in the house. I'm going to try softening it in a salt water solution and then washing it with vinegar and fabric softener. But I was wondering if anyone knew of any other ways to try to get rid of the static cling of this shirt. Normal washing with fabric softner and dryer sheets don't work.

    how can i help this?

Started 2 months ago · Last post 2 months ago ·
Swearing is typically a sign of an inadequate vocabulary. If you find yourself resorting to swear words constantly then you need to expand your vocabulary. There is a whole world full of wonderful words out there and if you are only resorting to use small words like the "f-word" or the "s-word", then you are pin-holing yourself.

My best suggestion is for you to not replace those swear words with new swear words, but to cut out swearing altogether. You need to find a better way to express how you feel and the only way you're going to do that is if you start training yourself to use a more grown up vocabulary and holding yourself accountable when you do swear. Maybe a swear jar, where the money goes to someone else, like a charity, your school or your mom. Then get yourself a good dictionary and start teaching yourself a new word every day. Make a point of using that word at least once during that day both in speaking and writing and at the end of the week, give yourself a vocabulary test, make it fun like trying to use all of the words you learned correctly in one conversation.

Also, I suggest you need to start to explore those feelings of hurt and anger that cause you to lose control and resort to swearing. Maybe keep a journal to write down your real feelings without any swear words. I think that will help you to outgrow swearing a lot because you'll start to be able to talk about why you're feeling the way you are and not just sputter swear words.

    Good luck

Who's Off To See The Wizard?

Started 3 months ago · Last post about 1 month ago ·
I'm not a huge Wizard of Oz fan, but I've seen every adaptation and have read the first book. I did liked Wicked the musical a lot, the Tinman was decent and I Return to Oz was OK. But I probably wont go and see the movie in theaters unless my boyfriend really wants to go. I'll just wait until it get's marked down to $5 at Target next year or watch it when my parents buy it.

What should I do about this? (sorry for the super long post)

Started 3 months ago · Last post 2 months ago ·
I wonder how people can behave like this to their own friends. My best friend (who now hates me for made-up reasons) who went on to art school- I never liked her art though, she scribbled everything. I spent so much time shading in hair and shadow and she'd just make a bunch of scribbles and then use a blending tool or her finger to smudge the lines. It was so lazy it would drive me nuts. But she never stole my ideas. I agree with KitKat, turn the tables on her and ask her what she's doing instead. And in the meantime be flattered that she's so uncreative she has to copy your ideas. After all, it is the sincerest form of flattery.
