I think maybe we need to take up a collection of craft stuff for you ladies that are suffering and send them out to you.

Leaving the past behind to start anew
Started over 2 years ago · Last post over 2 years ago ·
Sending lots of positive vibes your way to help you through this time. I'm so glad that you are making sure that you are happy, I think that is very important.
I'm also glad to hear that you were able to agree on terms with your husband, so it sounds like it won't be as messy. I divorce my ex about 8 years ago and it was a huge mess. If you even need someone to talk to, I'm here. Feel free to hit me up here, on facebook, or text me :)

Help me make me over!!

I really can't help with the modeling part, your pictures are very nice, but is sounds like you want a change, which isn't a bad thing. I think everyone wants to do changes to themselves at one point or another in their lives.
Why not play with little changes to yourself like getting something pierce (safely) or pay with the color of your hair. You could even use wash out dyes. Maybe even cutting your hair will give you the change you are looking for. Another idea is that maybe you could dress up more edgier and get some pictures done to your portfolio.

Cant find Cickó!!! :(
Started almost 3 years ago · Last post over 2 years ago ·
I hate how some people think an animal life is worth nothing. I think no matter where you go, you will always find people who are jerks to animals. I think that is why I have so many animals. Every time a stray shows up I end up caring for it and taking it in.
The kitten sounds very cute and is very lucky to have found you and your family, It is funny sometimes how things work out.

I hope he shows up soon.
I agree with michelle. Whenever one of my cats go missing I put out cat food (wet food works the best). It seems to work like a charm. I had one missing for 3 days, I was sure he was gone but he shown up like nothing was wrong.

Welcome to CO+K and your plushies are great and your Harry Potter projects sound cool.

Why did you post every single one individually!!!
Started almost 3 years ago · Last post almost 3 years ago ·
I don't think you are stupid or annoying for what you did.
I wouldn't worry about saving space. I think the more craft ideas, the better and it doesn't matter if it just comes from one person. Each of the items you made for your swap is a different project, so they deserve their own spot.
Feel free to post the rest of your plushie creations, because they would be great to see :)

pregnancy scare-need words of comfort
Started almost 3 years ago · Last post almost 3 years ago ·
I got the test results back and the HCG levels have dropped, so now they are pretty sure it is a miscarriage. I will be going in on Monday and they will decide what I should do next, like if I'm going to need a D&C.

pregnancy scare-need words of comfort

Thank you all for all the nice replies. It really helps and I really like hearing from everyone. Once I get home today it will be all about the pajamas and maybe even some ice cream :)
I went to the doctors today and they still don't know what to think of it. The tests are still showing as pregnant, they took more blood and want to see if my HCG levels in my blood have increased since last time. If they have, then it would look more positive. If it does go down then it is likely a miscarriage, but they even said that even with the numbers, it's not a guarantee on anything.

=( Miss my brother.

I'm so sorry sweetie, it is always so hard when it comes to things like this. I don't think the pain will ever completely go away, but will eventually get easier.
I agree with Michelle, maybe you should try to honor your brother in some way or maybe you can join a group that promotes awareness about what happen to your brother, so that others won't do the same thing.

I Would Love Your Opinion On....
Started almost 3 years ago · Last post almost 3 years ago ·
My daughter got a cell phone when she was 8, she is now 10, because the courts told me to get her one. When she would go to her dad's every other weekend, he kept leaving her at home by herself when she was 8. He would leave her at his place with no phone, since he just had a cell he would take with him. Once she got the cell, he stop doing it, I think because he knew the second he left her alone she would call me and I would come get her. In the 2 years that she has had it, she has only used it a couple of times to call me, just to talk to me, while she is at her dad's. When she is not at her dad's it is turned off and kept in her bag for her dad's house.
Like SyntheticStars I lead a Girl Scout troop, my girls are around the ages of 9 and 10. I have a few that have cell phones. I have told the girls that if they have cell phones that they need to stay in their bags and they cannot use them unless they talk to me. This seems to work, but I do have one girl who is constantly coming up to me trying to give me all kinds of reasons (none of them being good reasons) why she needs to make a call.
I think 5 years old is too young, but I also think depending on the situation and what the is like child, will determined what age they should be given a cell phone.

thinking about closing my COAK account
Started over 3 years ago · Last post almost 2 years ago ·
Michelle,
You are awesome and all your wonderful crafts bring inspiration to others, I know they have to me. I only join COAK in December, but have notice that you are a big part of these boards and post interesting and topics to get people to start communicating, which I thank you for. Don't let negative people get you down. Like others have said, there are always negative people (trolls) and they are everwhere, but from the response from this post I see that there are many people who enjoy what you bring to COAK and don't want you to leave.
Here is a quote online that kinda reminds me of this situation:
Use your talent (everybody has one) in anyway you can. Don't keep it for yourself like a miser - spend it like a millionaire! - Lucy MacDonald
This is just what you are doing when you are sharing your crafts with everyone here, you are like a millionaire and that is what makes you awesome!

nightmares and night terrors

Rachie,
I used to have very similar problems as you did. When I went to live with my grandparents I use to talk and scream a lot in my sleep. It got so bad that once the neighbors called the cops because of all the screaming I was doing in the middle of the night. I really don't remember having the cops come to our house, but was told all about it, I don't think I ever woke up all the way. I remember that almost all of my dreams were about something bad that had happen to me when I was little. The longer I lived with my grandparents the better I got. I think it's because I slowly was able to start to actually relax in my sleep without being scared, knowing that I was in a safe place. I also slowly (it took years) learned how to control my dreams in my sleep, this helps a lot. Today, almost 18 years later, I have very a few bad dreams were I talk really loud, but these are so few, that it may happen about once a year. Do you feel safe were you are sleeping? if not is there a way for you to make it feel safer for you?
I also use to have panic attacks, It was almost like once I got the sleeping part under control my anxiety wanted to come out in another way. I got really bad with my panic attacks. They were getting to the point were I didn't even want to go anywhere. I did end up going to a therapist for a little bit over this. At first she wanted to do nothing but push pills on me, but all that would happen is as soon as I took a pill I would start having a panic attack. This is because I hated pills and started worrying about the pill, which in turn would start a panic attack. After that we started working on other ways for me to control my panic.
One of the best ones was were I would be were I would sit down or lay down with my eyes close and start to tighten up my body slowly, little by little. First I would tighten up my toes, then my legs, then my thighs, moving all the way up my body, then I would just release it all. Sometimes I would have to do it a few times in a row. Also deep breathing help, as well. Listening to relaxing sounds when doing either of these things can help even more. For example I got cds that had the sounds of the ocean and the rain forest on them. I think they helped me because while I was tighten up my body or doing my deep breathing I could image I was somewhere else. I would often leave the cds playing at night to help fall asleep. One book I read, that help some was called "From Power to Panic."
Another big thing that helps is to be able to talk to others, kinda like what you are doing now, about your problems. I believe if you wanted to find another source of people to talk with that there are message boards out there with people going through similar things. It nice to support in as many ways as you can.
I do believe these ways can help, but can take awhile. As for me I'm happy to say that by doing these things, I haven't had a panic attack in 11 years and I haven't even felt like I was getting close to one.
Sorry this is so long, but I hope this is helpful to you.

Earthquake Haiti
Started over 3 years ago · Last post over 3 years ago ·
The whole situation sadden me and my heart goes out to all those in Haiti. I'm like many of the others, I didn't post because I don't usually say much about these things online, but have talked about in other means. When things like this happen it does make me upset and I want to find ways to help. I will definitely check out the website that craftalicious posted, that sounds like a great idea.
I recently was reading how children who were ready to be adopted in Haiti, who already had adopted parents ready to take them in, may now not get the chance or that it will take years to process because all the paper work is now under piles of rumble.
Rachie- that's great what Israel is going to do for Haiti
