Absolutely love freecycle! Today a lovely lady in my area gave me two years worth of cross stitch magazines - with the free kits still included!! Also, another lady gave me a bag of arty-craft magazines and a tailors dummy! Also received a huge pile of various card craft magazines! Hemel Hempstead Freecycle rocks! Thanks for reading my gush!

Festivals 2011
Started over 2 years ago · Last post almost 2 years ago ·
Hi! I went to V Fest last year and Leeds the year before that, you are going to have sooo much fun in Leeds (V Fest was kind of crappy in comparison!)
I want to do a festival this year but depends on what hubby wants to do as he doesn't really enjoy them! I may take him to a smaller/cheaper one like 2000 trees!!

I'm going to Rome this March..
Started over 2 years ago · Last post over 2 years ago ·
Hey Rome is beautiful - you're going to see so much! The card used to be called the Roma Pass and I used it for 3 days I think. The card is used for 2 attractions and for the transport. You can get it from the information centre near St Peters.
Can I come with you???! xx

Spring cleaning - your best tips?
Started over 2 years ago · Last post over 2 years ago ·
I start from the top of the house and work down, then I take down the netting and pop them in the washing machine first and carry on clearing the room, open the windows and let the air in! You can put the nets back up wet.
I hoover the seat cushions on any couches etc, then clean the carpets with cleaning solution, I dust down the curtains or wash them if you can. I move the stuff that doesn't belong in each room at the time so I can put it away when I get to the relevant room. I also listen to ALOT of music that makes me want to dance!

Christmas Presents... what are you making this year?
Started over 2 years ago · Last post over 2 years ago ·
I'm making christmas stockings for my 3 best friends, I'm filling them up with sweets and a sewing kit for one, an eye mask and knitting kit for another and a rag-doll for the 3rd.
My hubby is getting a decorated whiskey glass, possibly a cover for his iphone and I may buy him a new lunch box (his is disgusting!!)
Decorations out of clay for aunts and uncles I don't see (except at christmas - of course)
Embroidered hankies for the grandads, a tea pot and homemade cosy for my nan.
My sisters in law both get a homemade purple velvet drawstring bag, which I've cross-stitched there names onto aida so need to attach to the drawstring. I am going to make trinklet boxes out of polymer clay and pop them inside. My hubby gets to decide what to buy for his brothers and nephews.
My dad has been bought a Tommy Cooper DVD, I don't get the humour but he loves im!
My brother has been bought a couple of long sleeved tops from JoeBrowns and my sister will be bought a bottle of sparkling vodka from firebox.com.
Don't know what to get my mum but I was considering a posh pair of slippers. Any ideas?
I want to buy a cheap copy of pride, prejudice and zombies for one friend at work and need to decide on something homemade for the other friends at work. Does anyone know where to get some old cake tins/sweet tins from?

Help on a sewing project...
Started over 2 years ago · Last post over 2 years ago ·
I am 3 weeks into a sewing course and bought my first machine late yesterday, now I'm threading it up and I've wound the bobbin, when I start to sewing the thread jams up under the foot, I think its a bobbin problem, any advice please? Sorry for hi-jacking your thread Lacey! xx

I saw the human centipede in HMV I think it was last week. Just reading the back was enough to stop me from buying it, I have the morbid curiousity too - so if you girls actually see it, please let me know if its really scary or its 'House of Wax' scary aka terrible but very funny!
I love the rocky horror picture show, haven't seen it in ages! Must do that!

Too early to start thinking about christmas....?
Started almost 3 years ago · Last post over 2 years ago ·
Right, I have now made 22 christmas cards and 2 gift tags! But, I've bought a sizzix cutter for the tags so that should be no problem!
I've bought the material for the slipper bags for the sisters in law - dark purple velvet. Also finished 'Rosie' s-i-l's name cross-stitched so I can fix it to her slipper bag!
I was brought a beautiful book introduction to making cloth dolls by jan horrox and I would love to make a doll for the mother in law and my mum but we'll have to see on times!

I'd like to make a couple of ties, just to see if I could!! Maybe for the brother-in-law? Other than that the rest of the lads aren't in offices so they don't wear them, thanks Heather!
I was thinking perhaps a gardening box for my sisters fella, with seeds, seed markers, twine, maybe some gardening gloves all in a decorated box....maybe the same sort of thing but beer related for husbands friends....hmmm, will keep thinking...

I think advent calendars in shops now is strange as well Bryony! But that maybe as I have to get through my husbands birthday first!
As soon as my kitchen is back up and running (have been remodelling it - hence no money!) I will do my christmas cake, especially as I now have edible glitter!!
Started my sewing course last night, so was thinking of making a handbag with matching purses for each of my girlie best friends, but girls are easy to come up with ideas for - its boys I have the problems with!! Any ideas for Men's presents? xxx

Hi ladies and gents,
Is it to early to be thinking about making christmas presents?
My best friend and my sister are both pregnant and are due late December/early January so I don't think I want to rely on having time to make pesents in December!
I need to make ALOT of presents - 26 family and friends plus two newborns!
Any ideas? I can sew, do clay work, make some jewellery, I make cards as well.
Thanks all xxxx
