I write poetry! My fiance and I also write poems together.
He'll start off the poem with a line, and then I'll add a line - we keep alternating till we have a complete poem, or we sometimes take a book/magazine and randomly open it up and then we have to use the first word that our eye catches in our line. It's great fun!!
Here is a poem that we did together:
Frustration is flowing through my veins (me)
and sticking to my mind like stains (him)
It takes over my bodily functions (me)
and I get stuck in deep dark dungeons (him)
where I become my own prisoner (me)
of my stranded mind's wanderings (him)
I become lost in a labyrinth of untruths (me)
A butterfly thought flutters in (him)
And a sense of beauty grips my mind (me)
A change glitters on the horizon (him)
All I need to do is just reach out and touch it! (me)

I enjoyed reading "The Witch of Portobello" by Paulo Coelho and " A Handmaid's Tale" by Margaret Attwood. Both, in my opinion, are great reads!
